The suction is at the front of the pump by the input shaft. The inlet can be set up as RH or LH by simply moving the plug to the other side.

The case drain is at the back of the pump housing between the 2 ports on the end cap that go to the hydraulic motor. There are 2 case ports 180 degrees from each other.

Which connection is the suction and which is the discharge for this model pump?

Inlet/Suction is always the port that is Horizontal.
Discharge/Pressure is normally Vertical.
So to answer your question specifically about this pump: The answers are above.
For others that may have a pump body that rotates, the discharge/outlet/pressure can/may also by choice, be horizontally exiting. But the horizontal port for discharge will now be "Perpindicular" to the motor vs. "Parallel" with the motor.
A "Horizontal" port Parallel with the motor will always be "Suction/Inlet"

If your old pump was knackered then I would change your return and suction filters, the insides of the old pump will be choking them. Also check your suction hose (make sure its tight). When the pump was fitted did the engineer readjust the relief valve on the control valve? Is your hyd oil level ok if not top it up it could be drawing air. Your hyd system could also be air locked aswell so it may be a good idea to bleed the system.

Dear Sir, We have one Sundstrand Turolla-200 make Hydraulic Pump, Model: TFP-200/6D SC51 LAA/9B , which is not building up hyd. pressure more than 80 bar. We are also not getting source of supplier for...

First you need to find out if you have fluid in the cylinder,if low or empty it will not build up pressure.Hydraulics are famous for blowing seals and bleeding hydraulic fluid everywhere. If you have fluid its possible the switch valve is sticking to go up or down or not working. if that is working check the pump motor to see if the motor shaft is attatched to the pump

What is the model number and brand of your pump? Your description is a classic statement when hydros (your pump and motor) are failing. You can try charge pressure adj to make it work better. Model number will tell me where to direct you.

We are using a4vg125....DA...EP2 series rexorth pump in our motor grader can we use your 90R series pump there than what are the possible changes we have to make for this arrangement.

I can possibly answer this question but I need the full model number of the rexroth pump. The a4g is a great pump. I have many years experience with the rexroth line. And possibly can help you.

Limit the pressure supplied to the inlet of the motor, plug the return port. Place the case drain line into a bucket, or install a case drain line if not equiped and comparte the flow to the manufacturers specs. I don't know what they are off hand, but shouldn't be more than 1 gpm I wouldn't think. Another quick test is if you can turn the bare shaft easily with no resistance when both fluid ports are open, the geroller set has quite a bit of wear. This quick test doesn't work in some applications such as wheel motors as they are sometimes ordered as "free running" motors. They are the same motor, but with a looser fitting geroller set.

Pressure setting of series 90 pumps

Yes 90 series pumps will run pretty close to 6000 psi. there are cross port reliefs built into the endcap of the pump and usually a POR valve as well. so the POR should be set at 3000, the cross ports in the pump should be set higher than this. There may also be a "transmission block" which is a seperate block with hot oil shuttle and cross port reliefs. Make sure these reliefs are also set higher than the POR valve in the pump. There may also be cross port reliefs in the motor. These too must be set higher than the POR valve in the pump. If you system overheats after increasing the pressure setting of the POR valve, you are probably loosing oil across one of the cross port relief valves.
Please visit for more information. I** If am electric motor is being used to drive this pump, be sure you have sufficient horse power for this increased load. **
