Question about Sharp R-1610 Microwave Oven
Door won't stay close. It has two hooks that slide into the main body but the spring or hold mechanism just stopped worked. The door won't stay latched and the light stays on.
I just had this issue happen to me last week.. fortunately I was standing in my kitchen when it happened... I heard a snap and then a piece fall down the inside of either the door or the front key panel.. I'm assuming this controlled the door locking/oven turning on safety mechanism. The inside light wont go off and it won't turn on to cook.. I am trying to figure out if it's worth paying to fix or just replace the whole unit!? Anyone know if this is fixable by oneself rather than spend a bunch of money on a service technician??
