Hampton bay ceiling fan

I have a fan that is operated by remote control. My problem is that the fan is starting on its own. Sometimes its the light, other times its the fan itself. I have another one that is identical and working fine. They are both lo cated in my basement. The only difference is the one that is working fine is on a switch the other is soley by remote control. Any idea on what could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated!

I have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan that powers up on its own. It is not on a switch it is operated by remote. There must be a way to reassign the frequency on the remote and the fan to match. Similar to a garage door remote. I will be talking to my electrictian about this.

Same as others have reported. The fan powers up to high speed on its own and the only way to completely stop it is to turn off the wall switch.

My remote has to be reprogrammed for my fan. I put new batteries in 3 all together and the remote will not work. It also has 4 tiny switches inside but I do not know how to configure with that.

I have 2 Hampton Bay ceiling fans with remote. Sometimes the fan and or the light come on by themselves unless the wall switch is turned off. This is a problem because they are both in bedrooms and we have to get out of bed to reach the wall switch

I have the same problem. It turns itself on in the middle of the night, or it's on when I come home from work. Sometimes it's the fan, other times the light. Why can they put a just a simple pull chain on these things!! I really wish I hadn't bought one with remote. Does anyone have a solution?

Need to program Hampton Bay Ceiling fan remote control CHO88T7030T, HELP!

Change the battery. This is the first step when troubleshooting a ceiling fan remote. The easiest fix to any remote control problem begins with battery replacement. A 9-volt battery is needed to operate all Hampton Bay ceiling fan remotes.

Check the light switch used for the ceiling fan. The light switch found on the wall must be in the "on" position. This allows the ceiling fan to be operated by remote control

Re-program your remote. If battery replacement fails to get your remote working again, try to reprogram the remote. Open the battery cover you will see 4 dip switches. These switches must be set to the same position as the receiver on the fan. Use the screw driver to move the dip switches either up or down.

Follow the previous step to change the frequency if the ceiling fan is randomly turning on or off. Other electronic devices such as garage door openers can interfere with the ceiling fans receiver, causing it to randomly turn on or off.

Lights flicker when turned off by remote

I had this same problem with a Hampton Bay fan with a remote light switch. I call the manufacturer of the of the switch and was told that the model switch I had would not work correctly with CFL bulbs. The problem is with the dimmer function. You either need to change the bulbs to incandescent, or change the remote receiver in the ceiling. Hampton Bay was kind enough to send me a new receiver that works with CFL. The CFL units are white, and the incandescent is black. Hope this helps you.
