It would actually depend on the type of disc your using for you to be able to erase the contents of the disc and reuse that same disc for new recordings. it's called "formatting the disc". it deletes all recordings and returns the recording medium to its original empty state. this operation is possible if you are using dvd-rw or dvd+rw (re-writeable) discs only. please refer to pp.12-13 of your camcorder's instruction manual for more information about disc format features. hope this helps. thanks:)

I have been trying to erase previous recordings made in 2009 and 2010. When I set erase in motion,I get message "Recording error. Can not record on this discE 4 54040990"

They have to be DVD/RW's (rewritables) otherwise you cant erase, some DVD's have an RW next to the DVD etch but that doesn't mean re-writable, you can usually tell by the color of the dye used the re-writeables look different

I don't founr cd 74 mn 650mb, what use the DENON CDR M30 ??

If I understand your question, it can play any kind of music CD but it can only record on CDR-Audio or CDR-Music discs only.

• Only audio CD-R/RW discs can be recorded with this unit. "Use Audio CD" will be displayed when a disc other than one

for use with audio such as a CD-R/RW disc for use with a personal computer or another type of disc is loaded. (See "Discs that Can Be Used with this Unit" on Page 5.)

• CD-R discs can be recorded to only once. The recorded information cannot be erased.

• The recorded information of CD-RW discs can be erased. When this disc has been finalized, erase after the finalization removal operation has been performed. (See "Cancellation of CD-RW disc finalizing" on Page 28.)

• Recording mistakes made with CD-R discs cannot be erased; therefore, it is recommended that a CD-RW disc be used until you are accustomed to the recording operation.

If you desire 74-minute blank disc just Google "cd-r audio 74". The unit will also use 800MB 80-minute CD's.

My Panasonic E55 is having problems reading disks after I try to erase something on them. I erase without success and then it tells me the disk is unformatted. Also will not format disk after that. I...

Sorry this isn't a solution, but I just want to commiserate with you. I am having the same problem. I guess the problem started about three weeks ago. The recorder will not recognize any blank DVD-R discs and it only recognized 1 out of 4 new DVD-RAM discs. It would read most of my older DVD-RAM discs but would refuse to erase some of the old recorded programming. It also refused to recognize some of the older DVD-RAM discs, so in frustration I reformatted one. I was able to record and watch a couple of shows, but now it is saying "Unformat" for that disc.
About a year ago, the DVR gave ma some trouble and I was able to fix it myself. (I think it suddenly wouldn't power on, but I don't really remember if it was that or if it was a "SELFCHECK" error.) I had to open up the case and replace two capacitors. I bought the replacements at Radio Shack and my son helped me solder them on. My next step with this DVR will be to open up the case and look for any obvious problems. The worn-out capacitors looked oily and damaged, as I recall.

How do i rewrite over a disc that is full

If you are using a DVD-RW or DVD+RW, you can format the disc by performing "Format". You can format DVD-RW for either video mode recording or VR mode recording. DVD+RW can be format in order to erase all content of the disc.
You may not be able to reformat a disc that is not previously formatted by your recorder an example would be a. DVD disc formatted by PC or another recorder.
Follow these steps to re-write:
Insert a recordable disc.
1 Press [SETUP].
2 Select "DVD Menu",
then press [ENTER].
3 Then select "Format", and
press [ENTER].
4 select "Start", then
press [ENTER].
5 Confirm by selecting "Yes", then press
[ENTER].
Formatting will start.
6 Formatting is completed.
When the disc is ready for you to rewrite to "100%" is indicated.
Formatting 100%
