I have a lexmark 464de mfp. How do i setup scan to e-mail on windows 7 on this network printer?

Multi-function printers cannot scan and then e-mail the scanned image. They can scan and then fax a document.
You need to scan the document, then save the scanned image, open your e-mail program and create the e-mail then attach the image file (file attachment) to the e-mail before you send the e-mail.

How do i scan a document so i can email it?

You need equipment (scanner, copier/scanner/printer, etc... to scan your document. The software will ask you where you want to store/save to a location it on your computer. Then go to your e-mail client and click on new mail. After you fill out "to: i.e. recepient e-mail address", "regarding" etc. Find the tab for "attachment", Click,on attachement tab and locate the scanned document on your PC you wish to attach with the new mail to be send to the recepient.(The attachement will take quite a while depending on the document size). Then click send!!!

Hope it helps.

How do i email a document when i have scanned it?

Make sure you know where the scanned document was saved to on your computer. Normally by default it is in My Documents -> My Pictures -> My scans. Then open your e-mail account, choose a new message and click on Attach. From there it'll prompt you to "browse" to the location of the document, once you point it in the right place, you basically hit OK and it'll upload it to the e-mail as an attachment. From there you can write your message and send it off.

When i email scanned docs from my HP officejet 8500 Plus printer to my email, the pdf's are too large. how do i set them to be emailed at a smaller size.

No problem, you can solve this problem very easily :
Whenever you scan a document directly to your e-mail in a PDF format then printer scans it using its own property and only scans the document without any editing in the font or characters.

But the output i.e. the scanned document in pdf shows the same text using its own properties. That font is selected by pdf and not by the hp software. You can open the scanned pdf file and manually change the font size.
Or else

The best way that I will suggest you :

- First scan the documetn in a pdf file or any format on your computer instead of directly on e-mail.
Because when you scan it to your computer printer will scan the document directly to computer and in this way after scanning you can open and see the document. You can make sure if it is scanned properly or not, however when you scan it to e-mail there are chances when we dont verify if the document is scanned properly or not. If there is any hardware issue or any other error then it will scan half page or a blank page....we wont be able to verify it.
- Also if it is an official document which is half scanned or has some problem in it will give a bad impact on the receiver which is not good for professionals.
- By scanning on computer you can verify the document, can make required changes and will be able to send the document in a proper way. It is going to take few seconds but results will be fruitful....try it..!!! I do the same way and there is not much difference

How can I scan to email. I can scan and reprint plus I can scan to memory card

To use this feature in Windows, a destination must be programmed in the scan setup before scanning to a destination. See Set up the product Scan To button.

Load the originals that are to be scanned face-up in the automatic document feeder (ADF) input tray, with the top of the document forward, and adjust the media guides.

Lift the flatbed scanner lid and load the original that is to be scanned face-down on the flatbed scanner with the top, left corner of the document located in the lower-right corner of the glass. Gently close the lid.

On the product control panel, press Scan To.
Use the arrow buttons to select a file destination.
Press Start Scan or OK to scan the document to a file.

Scanning to e-mail is supported by any e-mail program that supports the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) protocol. Many versions of popular e-mail programs seem to be MAPI-compliant. See the support information for your e-mail program to determine whether or not it is MAPI-compliant.

Please can you explain to me how to email a scanned document with my all in one printer

Hi
Its is easy to do the task. Just scan the document. While scanning it will ask you to save as Jpeg image .Select that and then you can mail it as a picture.

There is an another way around. If you want to get the scanned document on the MS Word ,there is an option in the word where you can find 'Insert from Scanner'. Select that and then the image will come to MS WORD and u can mail that

How to scan a hard copy, and send in an email?

Hello,
Install the Control Center CC3, if it is not already installed. Connect the MFC-5460CN to the computer. Open the CC3 software. Click the Scan button. You will have the choice to Scan to Picture, Scan to OCR, Scan to E-mail, or Scan to file.
You click to E-mail. The MFC scans the document and opens the default E-mail program (Outlook, Outlook Express), attaches the scanned picture and all that is left for you to do is to supply the E-mail address where the document is to be sent.

If you have problems doing that, scan to file then open the E-mail client to create a new message and attach the file you scanned.

Hope it helps.
