Sansa View screen is messed up

I used my Sansa View the other day and it worked just fien. Today I turned it on and the screen is really messed up. It looks almost like it was cracked, but whenever I don't use it, it sits on my desk away from anything that can mess it up. What do you think happened and can it be fixed?

I was using it playing fine ,turned it off. a hour or so later I turned it back on and the screen was white with little lines in the bottom right hand corner. It looks like the screen is broke but it is not.

I went to turn on his Sansa View 16 gb yesterday and the screen was white with black blobs on it. Not sure why - can this be repaired?

My Sansa View screen also looks "messed up" with weird streaks, white and all abstract looking. It just happened the other day out of the blue. I didn't drop it and it's used on a somewhat limited basis. Never exposed to extreme heat or cold. Only about a year old. Anyone know a cause yet?

A year later from this post we have a Sansa View. How did you resolve loosing the English language and getting it back? We have some nice Asian script happening and my daughter does not know how she got there. Ann

My 8gb sansa scandisk has the common white screen... its four days old... not happy.....

You have a switch to turn it on or off. If you hold the 'on' switch for about 20 seconds, this will force the Sansa to turn off. It is like rebooting a computer.

Then, turn it on again, and hopefully your player will be back to normal.

SanDisk Sansa View Slim 8gb Screen Cracked

I broke the screen on my e200 series 6gb so I asked Sansa tech support about it and I was told that Sansa does not own any repair or support facilities whatsover. This means that you really can't get it fixed without either buying a new one or getting it replaced altogther.

Blue Light on, but screen not working?

The power supply for these small devices, Mp3 players and cell phones are low voltage, so battery terminals making good contact is very important. Because of the way they are designed, part of the equipment can be powered up, while part is not. Today I fixed the same problem wiilegend had on June 29 2008. I had this problem for days.I tried resetting it many times, removing and replacing the battery, using the Hold and Recording buttons, to no avail. A friend of mine had a similar problem with a cell phone where the keypad alone lit up upon powering, so he was the one that gave me the cure. I simply took an eraser and rubbed the battery terminals, and the Sansa E260 internal contacts, until they shone. I replaced the battery, screwed the cover on, and the unit was functioning again. All the best. Ramish Rambarran. Trinidad  West Indies.
