Try holding the input and menu button on the set itself both together for 8 seconds this should flash a diagnostic code on the set and cause the led to blink a 2 digit code and let me know what that code is and I will try to help you

Projector shows briefly and cutsl off

are you sure it's the fan? if the lamp cuts out and the fans still run, the problem is the colorwheel. if you are sure the fan is not moving, it will need replacing, but there is no fan sensor that would shut the projector down if the fan does not spin. there is, however, a temperature sensor that'll shut it down if it gets too hot. wheather it's the fan or the colorwheel, clean the dust out of the projector with canned air to help prevent overheating. then get the parts from an infocus service center and replace them yourself, or send it in for repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

Projector makes wierd noise and shuts down after several minutes

3 problems: 1- the light tunnel is collaping and needs replacing. 2- the tunnel might be hitting the colorwheel, which is now making that wierd noise. and 3- it needs cleaning. these models are famous for these 3 problems. there are no filters, so the dust just gets sucked in. the glue on the tunnel wears out from heat after a while. the colorwheel motor also wears out from heat and dust. the parts are not that expensive and they are relatively easy to install. contact an infocus authorized service center (from their website) and either get these parts or send it in.

Infocus LP 280 runs for 1 min then shuts down, runs again then

are the leds on the top lit or blinking? it could be the lamp, the ballast, or the fans. check the lamp. if there are black spots or bulges in the lamp, replace it. if not, make sure the fans are running. if they are, replace the ballast.

Infocus 4805 Lamp will not ignite after new bulb and reset.

it there is no high-pitched squeal when it starts up, the colorwheel needs replacing. the lamp won't light without it. the part is under $50, but installation is quite involved.

Infocus 4805 projector

There is a cooling off period that your projector will do in order to make sure it does not implode or improperly destroy your lamp. It is very fragile and each time you turn on your projector it lights up almost like you would light up a candle. Each igniting of the lamp creates a decrease average of 3 hours per turning it on/ff.

also, have you tried another lamp and reset the hours, or cleaned out the filter at all?

Let me know how things go for you. I wish you well and hope that helps fixes the problem.

---------->> My Infocus Screen Play 4805 -Popped*

Hello David,
The best way to find the best price is to do some hunting/research. Google "infocus 4805 lamp"
and wade through to find the best price.
You will find instructions on the lamp replacement procedure in the manual. If you dont have the user manual browse to www.projectorcentral.com and search infocus 4805 and on their spcifications page there is a "user manual" Acrobat PDF icon.
click on the icon to open the manual in pdf format

Powering down

I think you mean that you can still hear the fans running after shutting down, this is normal with the X family of projectors including the SP4800 and SP4805.

Infocus 4805 problem

Make sure that the lamp plug is properly plugged. 3 flashes indicate this or a faulty lamp.

Projector will not power on

Check your cooling solution wether its a fan malfunction or if it needs a new fan - or h20 cooling system

if not its either the power supply or something serious - send it to manifacture or go to a in-store repair

(it could be the dust protector)
