No. You'll need "Restore disks" which is Windows + all HP drivers and software.
Or you can install OS separately and download drivers from HP website.

Reformat partition hard drive

To return your HD to the factory settings do a full system recovery using the recovery disks (CD or DVDs) you made when you first had the computer. This will return the whole computer to its as-shipped state: you will lose all your data and any software that you have installed. This will retain/re-install the original partition structure on your hard disk. To do this process you may also use the recovery partition on the hard disk.

To completely reformat the hard disk, in which case you will lose everything on it
press the start button at the bottom left of screen,
R-click on computer, and select manage. The computer management window will open. From the left pane click on disk management under 'storage'. A new pane will open, with information on the different disks in your computer. Select the disk on which the partition to be formatted is located. R-click on the partition to be formatted, and choose format, and ten work through the format wizard. (see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-format-hard-disk-partition#create-format-hard-disk-partition=windows-7)
When you R-click on the partition other options will appear will appear as well as format, choose the appropriate option to create a new partition, merge, etc, By successively working your working your way through the partitions you may format/merge some while retaining others.

How do you rest to factory settings foe inspiron B130

You have several ways to do that ...The easiest and faster one ..is to save all files you might need and engage the recovery partition if it has such a tool ..to do that press f 12 or f 11 on start ..depending on what is written on the start screen ..and go to the boot menu ...on this boot menu ..select the recovery partition ..and start the recovery process ..If it does not have a recovery partition ...will give an error ..and you have to use a recovery disk ..assuming you have on e...you need to do the same thing ..Press on start the same key indicated for boot menu ...(insert the recovery disk first ) ..and than select from the menu ..using the arrows ..the boot from cd /dvd choice .It wil prompt you to press any key just to confirm you want to boot from the disk ..and will go on with the recovery process which will bring it to a new installed windows with all the tools and settings of the factory ..
In case a recovery disk is not present ..and you have no way to get one ..you will need a boot-able windows..and will have to reinstall the operation system from scratch ..and format the C partition during the operation ...This will install a new operation system ..and you will have to download and instal all driver for it ..and programs you may need..
From what I know this model came with a recovery partition ...so it should be an easy job ..Good luck !

I wan to reformat my laptop but i dun not have a disc to reformat so is it possible to do so without the disc???

Is there a program on your computer that lets you burn a set of "System Recovery" CD/DVD disks, using your computer, and a few "blank" disks?

Some computers have a "System Recovery" partition, that can be accessed only when you turn the computer on, and press a key to boot from that partition, and to restore your computer to its "factory" settings.

Or, telephone the manufacturer, and pay about $20 to order a set of "System Recovery" disks.
Add $20 for overnight courier delivery.

Be sure to make a backup of all your files/music/E-mail/contacts before you do anything else!

I've got Aspire 6930 and the hdu's partitions have been erased. I got the factory recovery cd's. What do I need to do to restore the factory partitions?

How was the partitions erased? Did somebody reformat the whole hard drive itself or just a partition. If the hard drive was reformatted then there's no way you can recover the factory partitions. Normally ther will be a hidden partition in the hard drive in case you want to use the recovery cds that came with it. And thru this, it will restore the factory settings on your computer on the state where you first got it. There is another option you can recover deleted partitions in case when the hd was reformatted like the stellar software, etc. but you have to buy it.

How do I reformat my acer aspire m1610 to original factory condition. There is no reformat disk please help

Some computers have a hidden recovery partition when they are set up. When the computer starts to boot up, at the acer splash screen pressing the alt and F10 keys should bring up the Factory Restore screen.

As long as the hidden partition hasn't been removed/deleted this should do it for you

Restore factory settings

On some computers, the disk-drive is "partitioned" into two parts -- your 'C:' drive and a 8GB "recovery" partition. If so, then when you start-up your computer, there is an option to boot from that Recovery Partition, and to reinstall Windows.

On some computers, there is software that lets you burn your own CD/DVDs that can then be used to reinstall Windows. Have 4 or 5 "blank" DVD disks, or 8 to 10 "blank" CD disks, before you run this software.

If you have "lost" the original disks, contact LG. For a small fee, they will ship you a replacement "System Recovery" CD/DVD set of disks.

I cannot find my XP disks and I am not sure my laptop came with installation disks. I want to reformat my laptop is there a way I can do that without the disks?

To reformat is to wipe everything off of your computer's harddrive. If you do not have the Recovery Disks, or an Installation Disk, you will be sitting there with a blank harddrive, and no operational computer.

I just wanted to explain that.

Most people want to restore their computer to what it was like from Day 1, when it came from the factory. For your Toshiba this is, "Recovering the original factory image"

Before you start, you may want to save any documents you have, in your My Documents folder. (My Pictures, My Music, My Video, Documents)
Burn your personal documents off to a CD, or DVD disk.
AFTER you restore back to the original factory image, they WON'T be there anymore.

Your Toshiba has a recovery partition on the harddrive.
Most computers do not have the Recovery Disks sent with them.
Saves the computer manufacturer money. They found that most users do not use the Recovery Disks, and would rather use a repair shop.

They also put the Recovery Partition on the harddrive. Plus the user is asked if they want to make a backup, (Recovery Disk), when they receive the laptop, and start it for the first time.
Problem is you are only asked once.

To recover back to the original factory image:
1.Laptop off. Press and hold down the 0 (Zero) key. Press the Power On button.

2.The Toshiba Recovery Wizard screen should appear.

3.Click on the empty circle to the left of -> Recovery of Factory Default Software.
(DO NOT click on Erase the Hard Disk!)
Click on Next

4.Click the circle for -> Recover to out-of-box-state
Click on Next

5.You'll see a warning message, "All data will be lost during the recovery process"

That's the data, (Information), you have in your My Documents folder, plus any programs you downloaded, or installed.
If they weren't there when the laptop came from the factory, they will be gone.
You know this, it's okay.

You are recovering, (Restoring), your laptop back to what it was like when it came from the factory.

Click on Next. This will start the recovery process. When it is finished a message will come up, and state that the HDD has been recovered. (HarDDrive)

Press on any key. You are finished.

When you created a partition on the new hard drive, did you make the partition active?
A partition that has not been activated can be formatted and Windows installed, disk check etc. but will not boot up.
You can make the partition by booting up in DOS with either a floppy disk or a boot CD and run the DOS command "fdisk" and navigate to Set the partition active.

Deleted Vista Recovery Partition. Now XP installer can't read HDD

if you have created recovery disk before the deleting of the recovery partition u can format the drive from your bios and create a new recovery partition using the recovery disk if not if your pc has crashed and your recovery partition is gone u will have to get a new operating system software but if your pc is still stable just run the recovery manager and restore to factory settings and it will put recover partition back on your hard disk
