Question about Hitachi 57F500 57" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
You can't change the actual size of the picture, you can change only the format in which the picture is displayed on the screen.
First of all make sure the PIP/PAP isn't activated (when the image is squeezed on only half of the screen) - press the PIP button on the remote once to activate and again to deactivate.
The Aspect button from the remote changes the format - normally it should be at 16:9, the default format of your tv. In that case a wide channel will fill the entire screen and an old style channel will leave some black bands on the side. By pressing repeatedly the Aspect button the image is cycled thru different formats - stop when you reach the one you like. You can do that everytime the format of the image is different from what you selected.
