Hi,
Thanks for using Fixya.
This problem arises due to an internal fault due short circuit as you are saying that two wires touched each other.
This problem can only be solved at a service center, so i advice you to take your device to a Kenwood service station for repair.
Thanks for using Fixya.
Good Luck and have a nice day.

To be honest if you have taken it apart then it is fried and the circuit board is not easy to replace i recommend a new radio, next time run your usb wire loose as you can so it wont never snag

How do I connect my iPod to a stereo Kenwood

The superior audio quality thanks to the Kenwood stereo system is as good as any on the market. However, many of Kenwood audio receivers contain no iPod connection port. Even the business hubs of high-end entertainment that interface with the computer via USB cannot provide connectivity to an iPod. But that does not mean you cannot high-quality audio through your stereo Kenwood iPod.

1. Put your Kenwood stereo. Connect devices with the stereo turned on may lead to spikes in volume that can damage the speakers and even your ears. Turn up the stereo, so you can use the set of connectors on the back to see.

2. Connect the end of 3.5 mm 3.5 mm to RCA cable for the headset from your iPod. If you do not have a cable 3.5mm to RCA, you can buy one of the sound equipment stores or electronics stores like Radio Shack.

3. Connect the RCA end to your cable 3.5mm to RCA in an available port on the back of your Kenwood stereo. Put your Kenwood stereo, so you can access the buttons on the front. Turn the sound and select the channel of your iPod is connected.

4. Test the connection. Lower the volume on the Kenwood stereo and start a track playing on your iPod that you can recognize. Turn your volume until you play the iPod through the stereo to listen. If you hear no sound, check the "Monitor CD2/TAPE2" is active, and "Mute" is off
I had the same problem with my first gen ipod touch. The reset button is on the front panel, between the Fast Forward button and the "1" button. Push it with a pen or something with the unit turned on. It will go dark then come back. You'll have to set up your preamp and other stuff again. I also now push the eject button before removing my ipod or USB thumb drives. The display will flash "remove". I guess this does some handshaking that cleans things up before removal.

A freen install kenwood ddx7017 and we hear dvds but no vision if there any extra part we need or were connected the wire whit the p

the only thing i can think of is the same prob I had with mine before I knew how to use it. there is a button on the left side of the screen with an "F" on it. That button switches between video modes. Try that if that doesn't work, check to see that both wiring harnesses are connected to a ground (actually 3 wires). 2 black, 1 green on the 8 pin harness (goes to parking brake switch); doesnt actually have to go there (that is for safety) Other than that you are on your own.

Kenwood DDX7017 Screen has no color and it won't eject

Had the same thing happen to me. All you have to do is use a pen or a paper clip and push the reset button located on the front of the unit. It cleared right up.

Sound problems

Hey, easy fix that is usually over looked.
If the vehicle has a stock amp to power the stock system installed,
that the remote power amp wire (P-cont) {baby blue I think} is connected
to the harness.
