This sounds like the pump has dead headed. I.e. the unloader valve is sticking. Unhooking all of the hoses should eventually allow everything to free up. Once it is free what you should do is add about 3 ounces of oil into the water inlet connection and let the unit sit overnight. Pull the recoil with the switch off to make sure that the oil has passed into and through the pump.

If the engine has frozen in place due to a lubrication problem you can try putting about .5 ounce of oil into the spark plug hole once the plug is removed. Let the oil sit for about 10 - 15 minutes in the cylinder head then pull the recoil with the switch off to clear the oil you added into the spark plug hole before re-installing the plug.

If it locksup yet again after this you wil have to remove the unloader bypass plunger from the pump assy and clean it. You will need to clean all of the seal mating surfaces with a rolled piece of sand paper. Also before re-assembly you must lubricate the seal surfaces with No. 105 Lubrilate "white grease" that is available at any auto parts supply source.

If after all of this it is still locked up the connecting rod has seized on the crankshaft and will require a rod bearing replacement and crank shaft polishing with emery cloth before insxtalling the new rod end bearing.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I have a 2600 Troy bilt pressure washer. When I start the pressure washer,no water comes out the nozzle and the nozzle is not clogged either.I took the nozzle/gun off and there still was'nt any wat

If when you take the High Pressure water hose off the pressure washer pump no water will come out they you may simple have the bypass valve stuck. You may need to just remove the outlet fitting and clean the bypass valve.
It would be helpful to know the model number of the pressure washer or the pump.

How to lock trigger on Troy Bilt Honda powered 3000 psi pressure washer

There are makers of trigger guns that make what they call "fatigue free, relaxed action" Guns. Yes, they are nicer to use, but they are not the solution I know you wish you had. We want a trigger that will actually lock down -- so that it does not have to be held AT ALL.

So my suggestion to you is to go ahead and have it. At Lowes or Home Depo and probably even your local hardware store; these days they sell strips of Velcro about 1/2" wide and 8" long (they have 'hooks' on one side and 'loops' on other side). Take one of those strips and use it tie the trigger back. This way, you can still release quite easily -- as the Velcro strip is easy to pull off. And you have the most fatigue-free trigger gun that can possible be.

I have not verified this, but I'm pretty sure that there is some obscure law preventing the design and manufacture of a lock-down trigger gun. These laws only apply to manufactures and you can do with your equipment what you wish.

I hope this helps you and if it does please take a sec to rate me. Thanks!

2-yr old troy-bilt pressure washer with honda gcv160 engine. seems to run well, but when trigger is pulled get full pressure for less than 5 seconds before reducing to house water pressure. when left...

It sounds like an air lock. Try this: With the machine off, connect the hose to the washer and let it run for several minutes to get all of the air out of the hose, and to purge any air out of the pump. Shut off the water, and connect the high pressure hose, but not the gun. Let the water run for several minutes. stretch out the HP hose and make sure that the air is displaced. Shut off the water, connect the gun, and purge as before. Now crank it washer up. As quickly as safe to do so, open the trigger to keep water moving through the washer. It should come up on pressure very quickly. It is better during normal operation to keep water moving through the system. When I am through for a while, I shut down my washer, but leave the trigger depressed to allow the pump to stay full of water, and cool. This prevents further problems when I restart it.
Hope this was useful.

Sounds like the governor is stuck. My pressure washer speeds up when it has to pump. Don't know if yours uses vacuum to trigger governor or direct linkage. Good Luck.
