Actually, when you get more than one paper feeding in at a time, it is almost always the separation pad being worn down. Go here to buy a new sep. pad and tell them Ken from National Cartridge Co. sent you there!

Paper Jam when trying to send a fax on 4th page

Paper Pick up Rollers get dirty or worn out with the passage of time. Hence, require cleaning or replacement if worn out. In case you find them dirty use a soft, dry, lint free cloth to clean the rollers. Don't use chemicals as they may damage the rubber and plastic. However, if needed, you can use damp cloth or some cleaning liquid such as mild detergent or glass cleaner to damp the cloth.
Lift the top Cover, Locate the roller and clean them. Depending upon the make & model of the fax you have, lift the top cover accordingly and locate the paper pickup roller.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Canon tech support for faxphone L80 --- will not fax multiple pages --- multiple pages are faxed as 1 page

If you have time and small amount of skills do the next:

Open cover of keyboard panel ( pull towards ), then you will be able to see, on fax side two rollers, and on keyboard side one separation assy ( rubber piece grey or black color ), as first aid use mild sand paper and "scratch" on it and clean with alcohol.
Also clean the rollers on fax side, while turning them.

This is only as first aid. If then works, that means that you need to order and replace separation assy. For EU code is HG5-1308-000.

TIP: when you replace sep.assy, also tighten the spring wich holds separation assy.

The fax takes two pages at once when trying to send a fax with multiple pages

Clean the rubber feed rollers and the separator under them (the area below the feed roller that is supposed to hold the next page in place when the top one is fed.
Sometimes the roller is on the bottom, and separator on the top, depends on model.
Use a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol or at least dampened really sparringly with water + washing-up detergent.

Fax uf 590

Pull open the bottom of the operating panel just above the paper tray one inch 1". Clean the small scanner glass with alcohol, it's hard to see. It's just above the first rubber roller at the black base of the machine.

Fax sending problem

It sounds like you have a few problems. First, the comm error usually means there was a problem communicating with the other fax. This maybe caused by a phone line issue, or a bad connection. You will have to replace you ink but that does not have anything to do with your sending issues. As far as the pages getting stuck, the separation pad under the top cover should be cleaned. If you lift up the cover where you load your pages to be sent, and look in there(on the backside of the keyboard)you will see a flat square rubber piece. Clean it thoroughly with a rag and some rubbing alcohol. Also clean the rubber rollers as well. Good luck John
