SOURCE: how do I the water level in the tank....I need for

If you have a copper rod with a large ball on the end, just bend the rod down. If it is a floater around a tube, there is an adjustment on the tube

How to adjust water level in the bucket , it's so high that it's difficult to remove without spills

There's usually a float that senses the level of the water so it shuts the unit off. Perhaps the float arm got bent at some time. I would try to re-position ( lower) the float arm, to adjust the water level.

How to adjust very noisy inflow and low water levels

Two distinct problems

Noisy inflow - reduce the water pressure by close the water isolation valve next to the toilet. Or buy a low noise cistern float assembly like the Torbeck. I have used these and they are good.

Water level is down to adjustment. If you buy a new valve, you will also get instructions how to get the correct level. How, is specific to each valve, but is with a screw.

What's wrong with that that's were it should be.with a 2.5 gal tank that water level is corect.Iff think that's too much, adjust the water level adjust clip, by sueezing clip and move it down to adjust the water levelto lower.

Water in the bowl is to low ...is always dirty..How do we adjust the level of the water????

Ower thus keeping the water level lower in the bowl. If this is a new style toilet , then you won't get it any higher. The design is such that the "S" trap is lower thus keeping the water level in the bowl lower. This is part of an ecological water saving move. If this is an older toilet, then you have ablocage in the trap and needs to be cleaned out to allows the water to rise up properly.

Water level is set too high and runs over the overflow. how can i adjust the water level in the tank?

Inside the tank, on a lever arm there should be a cylindrical float that rises and lowers with the water level. Attached to the float is a float rod with a clip that can slide up and down the rod. You can adjust the water level by sliding the clip down to reduce the amount of water entering the tank. As the water fills the tank, the float rises, pushing up the float rod, which in turn pushes up the level that controls the valve allowing water to enter the toilet.

After installing a new flush valve, the water level in the toilet bowl seems to be much lower than it was with the old flush valve. Is there any adjustment for the water level in the toilet bowl?

Yes,there it is!You can adjust your water level at the flush valve..You can see the ball there you need to adjust that so that the water level of your tank goes to your desired level.

Water level in bowl too low

Hello, W/D, toilet expert, here.
The tank has a water level line cast into the inside back of the tank. That's where your water level should ideally be. Now, there are a variety of water level controllers, so we'll hit on the major ones. But first, a little nomenclature, so you'll know what it isn't. If you remove the tank lid, you'll notice a tube in the middle that's open, and usually has a smaller tube inserted or attached to it. This is the overflow tube, and feeds water to the rim of the bowl. At the base of the overflow tube is the flapper, and it controls the majority of the flushing power. The flapper is operated by a chain connected to the flush lever. When the flapper is raised (flushed), the water level drops. On the left side of the tank is the water fill valve, The water coming from the house via the tubing under the tank goes into this valve assembly. Part of this assembly is the all important float.
Older ones have the float at the end of an arm, As the water level falls, the float falls and operates the water inlet valve at the other end of the float, on the water fill valve. As the level rises in the tank, the float rises with the level and shuts off the water when it gets to it's pre-set level. This type is adjusted by positioning the float either by the screw adjustments on each end of the float arm, or sometimes by bending the float arm.
The newer types have the float either built in, or the float surrounds the fill valve. The one that surrounds the fill valve looks like a very fat donut and is very similar to the older float arm type, just more compact. The water level is set by adjusting the linkage between the float and the water valve at the top of the water control valve.
The newer newer type has all of the floating mechanism built in. But cleverly, there is an external adjustment for raising and lowering the water level. On the side of the tube, there are slots and raised dots on the lower tube. The upper tube has slots on the inside of it. There is a white locking tab between the two tubes. Here's how this one works: (Turn your water off first for adjusting this type). The tube is in two parts, an upper and lower tube. They are held in place by the locking tab, and by the slots cast into the two tubes (they intermesh) To adjust this type, you have to raise the lower portion of the locking tab to raise it off of the locking dots, and than revove it. Then, you push down slightly and twist the upper section to unlock it. Set the level higher or lower, twist the two parts back together, and reinsert the locking tab. The aim is to set the water level at the level mark on the tank. This type can be tricky; you'd do best to turn the water off to adjust this type, and turn it back on once you have locked it back in place.
Best regards, W/D

Washing machine

remove the left and right edge trims on the control panel
remove the phillips screws under the edge trims
raise control panel ~1 inch and flip over backwards.
  • ensure air tube is attached( water level sensor operates off air tube from bottom of drum to control body, (bottom is not loose or there would be water all over the floor))
  • Blow any water out of the air tube, it should be empty when the washer is empty, water remaining in the tube messes up the pressure sensing(usually makes water level lower so doubt this is the fault)
  • ensure wires are connected to control body.
Kenmore pressure switches are adjustable, the adjustment is hidden.
An internal spring stretches over time and does not react properly.
to test whether just the adjustment is required,

  1. remove the water level knob from the front side of console
  2. depress the lock tab at the right side of water level sensor body where it contacts the back side of the console and rotate counter clockwise 45degrees
  3. withdraw water level sensor body
  4. adjacent to shaft for the knob is 1/8inch bolt head, turn clockwise to raise, counter clockwise to lower water level.
  5. washer can be operated with the console open and the level body removed just dont shock yourself on the cable connectors
  6. test, adjust, test adjust. (water level switch may need to be flicked hi-med & back to test adjustment
  7. if no effect replace water level sensor body
The water level switch body contains a small spring that is not really up to the job and stretches over years,
do this repair, on call, no parts, takes 15 minutes,, 3-4 times a month
