Blocked suction The FLOOR suction line (Hose) is clogged. I Can vaceum the floor, but it will not pick up anything because the hose to the bagless canister is blocked. I can switch from floor to hose and can vaceum furniture. it will not pick up off the floor. I have tried running a wire down/up the hose. I Can feel the blockage, but I cannot get it out. I am afraid to pull the flem hose out as I do not know how it is attached at each end.

It will not pick dirt on the floor lint or anything else. Checked all the hoses for leaks and clogs, and have nothing blocking the path way.

Please check your hoses again. Run a broom stick handle through if necessary. Check the passage of air through the hose by applying suction from another machine ... like a ShopVac or similar. Somewhere, there is a clog.

I have lots of suction but will not pick up from floor ?

if it will not **** dirt from the floor - then the hose is blocked with dirt and debris. use a wire coat hanger to fish the blockage out of the hose. the blockage usually happens where the hose kinda bends down into the floor unit.

My Dyson absolute vaccume has no suction. I have cleaned the filters, visually checked all of the hoses. there is no suction from the floor brush or the wand.

Check the ducting that goes from the floor pick-up into the machine, fluff etc often clogs the elbow. Check the pipe that plugs into the floor pick-up as well, it could be clogged further up.

I have suction through the hose but not when using in the upright position. The problem started once I removed the filter to clean it.

there is a chance that the hose between the ground pick-up and the suction hose is clogged,, this happens when the filter is blocked and all the dirt and stuff only makes it part way up the hose and then settles at the bottom. run a wire coat hanger down the line to break up the blockage.

The suction is good, but it can't pick up most of the stuff on the floor. The hand held hose works very well, but it doesn't even pick up little fuzzies reliably when I push it along. And, the suction is...

Check entire length of hose, including the piece in the power head, for clogs. Simply drop a marble in one end and allow it to roll out the other. If it doesn't, then the hose is clogged somewhere.

No suction from the bottom

Check for a clogged airway between the bottom shoe and the hose inlet. The shoe is the area around the brush when looking at the bottom of the floor unit.

Vaccuum forms in hose- will not pick up dirt

Check your wand for a clog. The DC17 line has common clog issues in its wand. It may be difficult to remove but if you have a long skinny pole(like one for curtains) you can use that to remove the clog.

No suction on main unit

Take the top cover off and check the inlet hose by the brush roll for a clog.

Willnt pick up good...

I had this problem once too. When the hose is inserted into the vacuum, the floor unit (where the spinning brushes are) becomes the head of the vacuum. In other words, the suction goes through the floor part and then up through the hose and into the vacuum. If the suction is good when the hose is out, the the problem is blockage at the bottom piece. Take the cover off of the rollers (it is one screw then it pops right off) and see if there is a bunch of lint/hair/gunk blocking the suction hole. You could also take the hose part out of the vacuum and look down the empty shaft with a flashlight and see if you see anything there. Hope this helps!
