Are you sure it's an SD card? If it's bigger than 2GB then it's actually an SDHC card and won't work in the 8025.

Unprotect a vivitar vivicam card

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

First, you need to have an SD card installed; the 8025 will not record video to internal memory. Second, be aware that the 8025 will not record any sound to accompany the video.

Press the Home button to bring up the main menu. Select Movie Mode (movie camera icon). Press the shutter button to begin shooting. Press the shutter button to stop shooting and save the file.

If you need a manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at http://vivitar.com

I just got a new vivitar vivicam 8025 and put a new sd card in and it says the card is full

1. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. 2. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. 3. Insert the new card and do the "format" thing again to optimize the new card.

My vivitar vivicam 8025 (pink) won't recognise my sd card, how do I get it to work?

How large is the card? I don't think the 8025 can use anything bigger than 1 or 2gb.

New sd card says full

Check and make sure the SD card is in all the way, it should make a clicking sound when it's in all the way. I had this same problem with my Vivicam 8025. Hope this helps!

My son got a vivitar 8025 and it wont take pictures it keeps telling us the card is protected. What does this mean and how do we fix it?

did you put an sd memory card into it? this camera will not take pics without an sd memory card (it did not come with any memory to hold pics on the camera itself). the memory card needs to be inserted into the slot right next to the battery:)
