Hello, I am trying to adjust my Canon T1i so that I can take a 200 dpi photo and can you please suggest which mode is best for photographing glassware?

There must be a reason you want a 200DPI which by the way you accomplish in "post" processing.
My suggestion with a Rebel and the 18-55 is to set the file is maximum Fine and then resizing in your image software. Glassware is a vague description some people may consider "Lead Crystal" as glassware and there is a difference, however in the almost 20 years I've been photographing Glassware I've used manual mode.

Glassware is cloudy

The problem is hard water. Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com. They have a new product out that solves this problem once and for all. It filters the water entering your dishwasher and removes the hard minerals that cause these spots. Very affordable and guaranteed to leave your dishes looking amazing every time.

Not drying dishes

Without knowing the make and model of your dishwasher, the most probable causes of no drying is:
1.) RinseAid being empty or not dispensing (as in you never seem to have to refill the dispenser.)
2.) The Heating element has failed. But if it has failed, you would also have foggy, film on your glassware.
3.) The timer is failing to turn on the heating element during the (at least) the heating element during drying cycle.
Good Luck!

Water not hot nor warm

When you run the hot water at the kitchen sink until it is hot and start a cycle on your dishwasher, is water hot when you open the door after it stops filling?
If no, the diswasher is connected to the cold water line, not the hot water line. The water temerature entering should be a minimum of 120 degrees but no hotter than 140 degrees.
If the water going in is hot, but it cools down after each filling then the heating element has failed and needs to be replaced. When the heating element fails, the dishes, especially the glassware will be foggy and still dirty.
Please reply with what you find. Good Luck!
