Do you own a multi meter? do you know how to use one? if not call some one.
does the unit keep running outside if you turn off the furnace power switch. if it keeps running it the contactor in the condensing unit. if it shuts off it is your t-stat.

check the fan setting on your thermostat. On means always on, auto/int means only comes on during heating/cooling. if the thermostat is set to auto / int and the fan keeps running? you may have a bad fan relay switch. It may be integral on the primary control board of your unit.

Ac unit clicks outside but nothing engages fan or compressor on unit furnace still runs for heat setting and fan still blows but ac will not engage just hear a clicking was running for three days this...

Have you check the outside breaker? If its ok then you got a problem in your electrical system inside the unit probably the contactor is not engaging this is where the 24 volts from the thermostat calls for the 240 volts to run the condenser fan and compressor. Be careful checking this out because of the high voltage.

Goodman A18-8 electronic furnance and AC troubleshooting.

Check the unit for a high temperature limit switch, usually a round bimetal disc or a square plate that
would insert into the unit. If the switch is bad, it opens up and the fan will run no matter what. Complete the circuit with jumper wire, if fan shuts off
replace switch

Ac unit wont start

Sounds like a classic case of a burnt/pitted compressor contactor. The contacts can get pitted and sometimes burnt. This can cause them to stick and the unit will not shut off unless you shut off the circuit breaker. When you shut off the circuit breaker, the contacts would have cooled down which could have led to the problem you are now experiencing......will not come on. Open up the electrical box. Look near the bottom for a brown or black part with the wires from your circuit breaker wired directly to it. This is your contactor. In the center is the piece that moves up and down to allow the electricity to go to your compressor and fan motor when there is a call for cooling. Check to see if it looks burnt or otherwise damaged.

Thermostat will not turn on AC unit or the fan in the unit. Heating-Co0ling Thermostat CHT 18-60 3aaT76A21A55 30 VAC 1.5 Amps Goodman Mfg. Corp.

Here is what I would try to see if the thermostat is bad. Take the facing off the thermostat. Once this is done you will see where the wiring is connected should be a red green yellow and white Turn off power to unit make a diagram as to where the wiring was connected red to r green to g and so on Remove these wires red green and yellow and twist them together Go to the power source and re energize the unit once this is done all components should come on if not the thermostat isn't your problem Red is your low voltage power supply (24 volts) Green is your fan motor in furnance, yellow is your outside cooling unit. 1 other thing you might check. In the furnance if the doors are not properly installed on the face of the furnance it may not allow the unit to come on. There is a safety switch on the furnance where the filter is that if the door is not put on properly the whole system loses power and will not work. Hope this helps. Good Luck

RUUD Air Conditioner not turning on

Need to check the breaker to the unit at the electrical breaker box. You should have a dual 60 amp breaker that runs the unit. Also if you removed the front of the furnance on the inside the system will not work unless the front of the furnance is on. There is a safety switch that will not allow the system to run with the door off. There could be the problem if the breaker is on and electricity is supplied to the unit that switch may be out and need replacing. The furnance is operated on 110 volts the condensor (outside section) operates on 240v you need to insure that the proper voltage is supplied to both.
Since both units work together yet operate seperately if the furnance comes on and the condensor doesn't then there is an electrical problem at the condensor (more than likely the contactor switch) if the condensor comes on and not the furnance then there to is an electrical problem (either 110 volts not supplied) or the switch to the safety cut off is bad. Now if neither furnance nor condensor comes on there could be improper power to both or a bad thermostat since the thermostat activates both furnance and condensor. Good Luck on repairs

Indoor fan motor continue to run even if the thermostat is in auto position with the cool and heat switch in the off position. The furnance don't have a fan on and off switch in the furnance like most....

Try this, disconnect the fanwire (green) on the furnace, if it shuts off then the hot wire from the thermostat is touching the green wire or bad thermostat. Thank-you-very-much!

If you have an electronic thermostat, they can short out, leaving the compressor running. Also, the big relay that runs the compressor can get its contacts welded together. See if the contacts are stuck closed.
