Make sure you have not hit manual button on the camera, if batteries are ok then it could be the motor or relay gone in the camera, that may mean a trip to a camera shop or call sony on 01256 828828 if you want the camera checked over, it is a great camera, better than any other today in that field, so worth mending if needed.
