Try resetting BIOS and also check whether the Plug and Play service is activated.

Windows run doesn't keep my work history

you have to physically save any work
save the history to a usb drive in case you have computer failure

Plug the flash drive into your computer's rectangular-shaped USB drive.

Wait for Windows to recognize the system.

Windows operating systems use "plug and play" technology, which means that computer peripherals like USB flash drives can be recognized instantly by the system without further need for device configuration.

Open the drive on your computer.

Open the "My Computer" directory if using Windows XP or the "Computer" directory if using

Windows 7 or Vista. Locate the flash drive letter and icon under the section named "Devices with Removable Storage." Double-click the flash drive icon to open it.

Transfer files to the flash drive.

Click the "Restore" button in the top-right corner of the "Computer" or "My Computer" directory to shrink the window so that you can view your computer's desktop background.

Open the folders or locations of the files which you want to save to the flash drive.

Click and drag with your mouse each of the files and folders you want to save to the flash drive over to the empty space in the "My Computer" or "Computer" window.

Release the mouse button to let the files "drop."

Close the windows and directory locations when finished.

Save files directly onto the flash drive. From an open file (i.e. text, spreadsheet, image files. etc.), click the "File" menu and "Save as" option.

Select the "My Computer" or "Computer" directory in the drop-down menu at the top of the "Save As" box. Double-click the flash drive letter under the "Devices with Removable Storage" section.

Click the "Save" button to save the file onto the flash drive.

Close the windows and files when finished

hope this helps

Transcend usb v30 2gb not working .. usb recognised..?

Try connecting USB drive on some other systems if it is being detected by them there is something wrong in your system else the usb drive is damaged.

When you attach the usb drive, after that right click on my computer icon and click Manage option. After that under Manage console select Disk Management, look for removable drives (that is your usb drive) under it and then format it. It will be formatted. If that also does not work then probably some of the windows files is corrupted and you need to either repair your windows or reinstall it.

Thanks !!

Ive downloaded the driver from the jasco website and still after i anstall it the cam doesnt work. how do i get it to work?

Once the drivers are installed you should either see the web cam show up in "My computer" or in Control panel under scanners and cameras.

If it is not showing up in either of these locations, check your device manager.
On windows XP, go to Control panel, system, select the "hardware" tab and select device manager.
On windows vista or Windows 7, simply go to control panel and select Device manager.

In the device manager, you want to look under the "imaging devices" section to see if your web cam shows up there.
If it has a yellow ? or ! then you want to try and update the driver.

If it does not show up in device manager at all then try a different USB port.

In vista , when i plug usb message display usb can't recognize

Method 1: Use Device Manager to scan for hardware changes loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); Use Device Manager to scan for hardware changes. After your computer scans for hardware changes, it might recognize the USB device that is connected to the USB port so that you can use the device.

To scan for hardware changes, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.

Note If you are running Windows Vista, click Start, and then use the Start Search box.
  2. Type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK. Device Manager opens.
  3. In Device Manager, click your computer so that it is highlighted.
  4. Click Action, and then click Scan for hardware changes.
  5. Check the USB device to see whether it is working.
If scanning for hardware changes fixed the problem, you are finished. If this method did not fix the problem, go to Method 2. uparrow.gifBack to the top Method 2: Restart the computer loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); If scanning for new hardware did not fix the problem, try restarting the computer. After the computer has restarted, check the USB device to see whether it is working.

If restarting the computer fixed the problem, you are finished. If this method did not fix the problem, go to Method 3. uparrow.gifBack to the top Method 3: Disable and re-enable the USB controller loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); Use Device Manager to disable and re-enable all the USB controllers. This lets the controllers recover the USB port from its unresponsive condition. The USB controllers represent the USB ports in Device Manager. If you are not comfortable with advanced troubleshooting, try the steps in the "Workaround" section.

To disable and re-enable the USB controllers, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.

Note If you are running Windows Vista, click Start, and then use the Start Search box.
  2. Type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK. Device Manager opens.
  3. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Note You might have to scroll down the list to find this item.
  4. Right-click the first USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers, and then click Uninstall to remove it.
  5. Repeat step 4 for each USB controller that is listed under Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  6. Restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically scan for hardware changes and reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled.
  7. Check the USB device to see whether it is working.
If the USB port recognizes the device and if you can use the device, you are finished.

If this method fixed the problem, you are finished. If this method did not fix the problem, go to the "Workaround" section.

CAUSE loadTOCNode(1, 'cause'); During initialization, devices are reset too soon after they are powered on. In this situation, some devices may use the wrong connector.

Solution:

Power Management system can sometimes cause issues. follow these instructions:

Right-click on My Computer/Properties/Hardware Tab/Device Manager. Now look for the Universal Serial Bus controllers tree....then expand it. You should see a number of USB Root Hub insertions. Right-click one of them/properties/Power Management. Take the check out of the box labeled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

If you still get "Usb device not recognized" in Windows and the above solution doesn't work for you, there might be other causes:
A) USB device worked before but suddenly stopped working:
The following solution might be applicable:

1) Remove all oem*.inf files
=
1. Click start and click run then under the run line type in the command “cmd” (without the quotation marks)
2. In the command line, type in the following (without the quotes) and press enter after each command:
“cd \windows\inf”
“ren infcache.1 *.old”
“ren oem*.inf *.old”
“del C:\windows\setupapi.log”
2) Removing all entries under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Enum/USB that start with VID ==
Removing the VID entries from the registry will cause them to be redetected at restart.
CAUTION: If you have a USB keyboard or mouse, do not remove the VID entry for these devices, otherwise, Windows may not restart correctly.
1. Click Start and click Run. Type regedit and click OK. The Registry Editor window will open.
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB.
3. Highlight and delete all the VID_…. entries.
Permissions may be set allowing the deletion of the VID_ entries by following the steps below:
a)Right-click the key to be deleted, and then click Permissions. The VID_… Permissions window will open.
b)With Everyone highlighted in the Group or User name section, select Full Control in the Permissions section.
c)Click Apply, and then click OK.
4. Turn off the computer.
Reconnect the USB device to the computer system: ==
1. With the computer system turned off, reconnect the USB hub to the the USB port.
2.Restart the computer.
3.A New Hardware Detected window should open and reload the drivers.
