Question about Plantronics Supra Polaris P61 Headset

Encore/polaris h51 headset, compatible with avaya 4610sw phn

I have an encore/polaris H51 headset that I am using and works fine with the meridian phone, I do not have the amplifier as the headset does not need it, but people say I am not loud enough. Does this headset work with the Avaya 4610sw phone? On thier manual it says they only support their own headsets.

For best practice they might have asked you to do that but you can use any brand you want with avaya phones .

I have tried all configurations settings with my new Plantronics S11 headset, and with some I can hear on the headset, but the caller can't hear me. With others the caller can hear me, but I can't...

You need to remember a couple of things when using amplifiers and headsets. Normally they will not work if you connect them to a phone with cordless accessories. Also, you need to make sure that you're connecting the amplifier to the HANDSET jack on the phone (this requires removing the handset off of the phone to access an open line). Give that a try and you should be fine. If not, contact your retailer or Plantronics at 800-544-4660 x5538 for warranty service.

I connected my S11 plantronics headset to my Cisco 7900 at work and can hear, but callers can't hear me

Most Cisco phones have a headset port where you can connect a headset using a special direct connect cable. This allows you to use your headset without touching the handset (receiver). However, when using an amplifier and headset combination, like the S11, you will need to connect through the HANDSET port. You disconnect the handset cable from the phone, connect the S11 cable into that port and connect the handset cable into the back of the S11 amplifier. Be sure to follow the illustrations on the back of the amplifier when connecting the cables. Also, adjust the configuration slide on the left of the amplifier for the best possible dial tone. Remember that in order to access a call or make a call, you will have to lift the handset off the phone and set it aside (switch hook needs to be activated).

First of all, make sure you're plugged into the headset port of the telephone and not the handset port. Pressing the Handsfree button should change from handset to headset. You can't use the speaker phone with the headset plugged in.

I recently purchased a plantronics h171 headset for my snom 320 phone. I can hear fine but no one can hear me

This is a common problem if you are using a 2.5mm patch cable instead of the Vista M22 amplifier. Phones do not put out enough power to the 2.5mm jack. If you are using the Vista M22 amplifier make sure the batteries are fresh and installed correctly. Also sometimes a voice tube can become clogged with debris which can restrict the airflow and people will not be able to hear you.

One of the specifications for this product is that the microphone has volume controls on it. Try increasing your volume using those controls. They should be located on the receiver. If that doesn't solve the problem, you stated in your request that it was hooked up to your corded phone. Try increasing the volume on your phone and make sure all wired connections on the phone are hooked in properly and are properly secured in their terminals/ports. If that fails, try your amplifier. There could be a wire shortage or bad connection internally within the headset and microphone. I hope increasing the volume or correcting your wire connections will solve your problem. Hi, At the office we have a Mitel IP phone we have just bought a headset model JAC0021201- B. We cant get it to work. Please can you advise how we set this up. Regards Trevor

I'm not finding manufacturer detail on this headset, only sales via Amazon, and it's dicey info at that.

So,I'm not certain this headset is compatible.  The only Mitel approved headsets are the Plantronics Polaris models.  These headsets fit into the headset port.  Such headsets require a headset button to be programmed and enabled on the phone to work.  When the phone rings, you will have to press the ringing button, to hang up, you will have to press the cancel button.

Other headset models may work, but require them to be plugged into the handset port and the existing handset will have to be plugged into it's unit.  Such units will require lifting the handset to answer the call and hang it up when completed.  Some such units have an optional lift kit.

I personally use a Plantronics Polaris "in the ear" model.  Plantronics web site has a config guide that will help you select a headset.

good luck,

Do you know how to program a headset key on a Toshiba DKT phone ? I have added a headset via a Huee card but need a button to go off/on hook using the headset. System is DK56 Thanks

Your headset is incompatible then. Palntronics H51 is used normally and has a seperate box that has on and off and volume and mute. Also DIP switched must be set properly on the box.

Is it compatible with an IPCC nortel network phone?

I am personally using a Plantronics CS60 wireless headset with a Meridian Nortel M2006 Phone and it works just fine.

Here is how you can setup the Plantronics CS60 wireless headset.

NOTE: Before setting up the system make sure the IntelliStand switch (on the right side of the charging base) is in the "_" position and NOT the "=" position.

The headset and the base unit are supplied subscribed to each other. However, if you wish to use a replacement headset with the base unit (or if you lose your connection to the base unit), then you must re-subscribe as follows:

1. Return the headset to the charging base.

2. Press and hold both the + and - buttons on the back of the charging base until the red light on the front of the base starts to flash.

3. Let go of both buttons. The red light should continue to flash.

4. Press the mute switch (black wheel on the top of the headset) straight down until a green light appears on the headset, then let go of the wheel, and the light should remain on the headset.

5. Resubscription is finished when the red light on the base is fully illuminated and the green light on the headset disappears.

6. Remove the headset from the charging base lift telephone handset/press headset button if not using a handset lifter. The headset and base should now be connected.

Irritation

Contact Nortel since they make meridian systems and see what the problem is. It could be the plastics, the dye, something in the heaser, or some residue casuing an elergic reaction.

Some meridian phones allow for a headset to be installed at the bottom of the phone. The headet jack should be labeled on the botton of the phone if you have one. That could solve the problem as well.
