Do you have a memory card in the camera? Is it formatted?

If you don't have a card, you'll have to buy one. It's just like buying film for a nondigital camera, except you can reuse a card.

Take a picture, then turn off the camera. Turn the camera back on and see if you can review the picture you just took. If you can then the picture is on the memory card.

You can download the manual from the manufacturer's web site at
http://www.vivitar.com/files_products/13/VC8025%20User%20Manual.pdf

The camera needs a memory card in order to save pictures. You can take pictures without one and view them on the screen, but those pictures are lost when you turn the camera off.

What do you do when the camera wont load any more pictures? Do you need an ew memory card?

If your memory card is full, there are several things you can do.
1) Swap in a new memory card.
2) Download the pictures from your card to a computer and then format the card to prepare it for further use.

Sounds like one needs to delete the pictures on the internal memory in order to free up space or add an empty memory card.

The camera only holds one picture, and that only until you turn the power off. To take and store pictures, you need a memory card. The 8025 uses SD and SDHC cards up to 8GB in size. These cards are available at just about any department, electronics, and office-supply stores.

Is the manual, and you need to refer to pages 6 and 7.

If you still have problems, you should contact Vivitar support. This should not be a problem since the camera automatically switches to the SD card when inserted.

Vivitar vivicam 3785 new memory card

Might be that the card is too large/small for camera to recognize, or it is a newer type of memory. Look up the specs for camera and compare to stats of memory card.
