Question about Mitsubishi WS-55511 55" Rear Projection Television

My 60" Philips rear projection tv began showing double & triple blurryness on the screen, what is the problem? Is it worth fixing? The tv is 9 yrs old.

Hello it sound like the convergance ic may be the problem 2 large chips at the back of the tv usually behind the tuner board they sit on a metal frame called a heatsink also you will have to check the resistor in front of the ic and the 2 capacitors at either end

the set uses two stk-392-120 convergence chips, both will need to be replaced and the set adjusted--tvrepair.com sells kits for this based on brand and model number.

this is a convergence problem,
well worth fixing
I would have a TV repairman take a look at it.

I have A 60 philips projection tv with triple picture




Don't adjust anything from the rear of the set unless you are a TV repair tech. It can get ugly real quick. 

Try adjusting the convergence using your remote...Pull up the settings menu - goto picture - convergence - etc....See if you can adjust the color alignment back to normal. If not your convergence chips are most likely going out.
