Hi.

You have to add time on the timer only if you have programmed a timed cycle.
If the mixer does not start you may need to lift the bowl in position. If the machine has a bowl lifter, then use the bowl lifter button, otherwise lift the bowl manually.
Also ensure that the emergency stop button is not pushed in stop position. In that case push the button to release.

Here the manual.

I report the procedure from manual. The procedure is for machine with no lifter.

"1. Rotate the bowl guard as far to the left as possible.
2. Lower the bowl yoke to its lowest position using the bowl lift wheel or the power bowl lift.
3. Install mixing bowl onto bowl yoke pins. Make sure the pin on the rear of the bowl properly
engages with rear of bowl yoke. Rotate the two clips on the yoke to lock the bowl to the yoke.
4. Slip the desired attachment to the beater shaft and rotate to the left to lock it in place.
5. Refer to the capacity chart on page 14 and then fill the mixing bowl with the ingredients.
6. Raise the bowl to its fully up position. The mixer will not start until the bowl is fully up.
7. Rotate the bowl guard fully to the right. The mixer will not start until the bowl guard is fully
to the right.
8. Your mixers are equipped with a 99-minute timer. If the mixing sequence is timed, then press
the arrow keys until the desired time is displayed. If you want to run the machine continuously,
then turn the timer off so that no display is shown. The mixer will not start if the display is lit
up, yet shows “0”.
9. Put the mixer in position 1 (low speed) and press the start button. On the 3-speed machine
there are 3 low speeds and on the 6-speed machine, there are three low speeds and three high
speeds. "

Ginko.

What is the difference between a H800 and L800 mixer

I have used the H600. Nice piece of kitchen kit for hard use.

Model H600 is a heavy-duty 60-quart mixer which features a two-horsepower motor, a timer and a #12
Attachment Hub as standard equipment. With the use of bowl adapters and special agitators, 30- or 40-
quart bowls may be used on the H600.

Model L800 is a medium-duty 80-quart mixer designed primarily for use in general kitchen applications.
This mixer features a timer and #12 Attachment Hub as standard equipment and is powered by a
two-horsepower motor. With the use of bowl adapters and special agitators, 30-, 40- or 60- quart bowls
may be used on the L800.

A Bowl Guard is standard equipment on all H600 and L800 models.

A programmable timer controller is optional on H600 and L800 models.

These mixers can be ordered with a stainless steel finish.
A variety of attachments and accessories are available for all mixers. These are described in a separate Use and Applications Handbook, which is furnished with each mixer.

My bowl spins so fast that the ingredients flu out of the bowl

The bowl is not supposed to spin, it locks into the base of the pedestal. Engage the lugs and turn it one way to lock it up.

My Sunbeam mixmaster bowl won't turn, how can I fix this?

I believe that this particular model is supposed to have the bowl mix separately. I have removed the black piece from the bottom of the larger bowl in order to allow manual spinning. If I am able to figure out how to fix the bowl spinner I will make another post.

Why does my sunbean mixmaster bowl don't spin?

the spinning plate under the bowl does not have any power to spin the bowl; it only aks as a "lazy susan" carousel that allows the bowl to turn from the movement of the material being wipped in the bowl.
the beaters are purposely off-center of the bowl in ordwer to create a dragging motion of the material in the bowl, thus pulling (that is, spinning) the bowl slowly. If the beaters are not off to the side of the bowl, you will not get the pulling/spinning motion. Also, if the plate under the bowl does not move very easily, then the bowl will not spin. You may have to remove the spin plate and clean the center pivot for the plate to move freely. Good Luck, Macgivor.

Bowl can't be lifted

I think if you look at the bracket that rises as you turn the bowl, you will see that it is supposed to "tighten up" as it lifts against the stationary "rail" that is part of the column. If it is too tight to go up all the way, see if a little candle wax or a a dop of light machine oil applied to the "rail" will overcome the excess tightness.

Hobart Mixer bowl won't go up

If the worm screw is turning but not lifting the bowl, the bowl lift nut is stripped.
H600 part number is 24198.
To change it, you need to undo the screws down the right side yoke slide to release the yoke. You will need to lift the yoke to reach some of them. If you have some wood place it under the yoke and over the legs to protect the paint. On top of the yoke are two blots holding the keeper plate over the nut. One is the stop screw for bowl height. Don't loose this setting. remove the slide, edge the yoke forward a bit to free the worm. Run the old nut down the worm and off the bottom. When you run the new nut on, all the excess grease and metal shavings will start to build up. Clean as you go, or better still, brush with solvent or similar to clean the worm threads . relubricate, run the nut up above the yoke, reload the yoke and attach keeper plate, reload slide.
To adjust slide, snug screw near bottom keeping slide close to yoke, run yoke to top and tighten top screw just enough to hold slide in place, lower yoke to bottom, gently tap top of slide in a 1/16" and tighten top screw. Run yoke to top of slide. It should start to bind slightly in the last 2 inches of travel, which will stop the bowl from dropping in use. Tighten remaining screws.

I just got a new Kitcheaid Artisan 5 qt stand mixer. i can't get the bowl off of the stand. seems like its too tight, and i can't budge it. is there something i can do?!?!?

These bowls can tighten during mixing. One solution is to fill it with ice while trying to unscrew it. Soaking the base with soap is another solution. In the worst case, the bowl and the cap it fits in are replaceable.

I have had to use a homemade strap wrench on others. Be careful not to warp the bowl out of round, or it will be un-usable.

Bread hook use

Use it to the side. This will pull the dry ingredients off the bowl. If the dough is coming out lumpy, make sure you follow the recipe exactly. Putting dry into wet will give different results than putting wet into dry. If this doesn't end the lumps, try a different type of flour.
