Motherboard sound won't load

I just bought an ASUS P5GC-MX1333 and the sound (realtek High Definition Audio) wil not load. I keep getting a failure message. I even downloaded from Asus. I tried to uninstall it and now it is saying that the "failed to uninstall the device. The device m,ay be required to boot up the computer". The only reason why I could think that it won't load is because it is XP upgrade. Any ideas

    What windows are you using?

In XP you could try removing the "Microsoft UAA bus driver for High Definition Audio" from Device manager. To do this go:
    1/. Right Click "My Computer".
    2/. Choose "Properties"
    System Properties Opens
    3/. Click the Hardware tab.
4/. Click the "Device Manager" button.
    Device Manager opens.
5/. Click the + next to System Devices
6/. Right Click on "Microsoft UAA bus driver for High Definition 7/. Audio" and choose Uninstall from the menu.
8/. You chould now be able to remove the "realtek High Definition Audio" driver as well.

    Re-run the driver setup program.
