do you know which hose is the drain hose connection? they arent labeled.
One is a thin hose and the other has a big plastic turning knob. one is the water inlet connection and one is the drain hose connection. there are no pictures of which is which.

I tried to find service manual but there is none. you need the part number, so that you can ask the replacement. If I find any schematics or manual I will post it here.

Put your model number here and check if they have the parts in stock

I also found a manual for the 396 , which is similar, showing pictures of the connection.

It sounds like your motor is stuck in the reverse position. It could also be in your timer. I would suggest calling a qualified technician for the one. Just because the parts are pricey and depending on how much a new dishwasher cost. Atleast get a diagnosis so you can know if its worth fixing or buying a new one. If you have anymore questions please feel free to comment me back.

Faucet connection

You only need to put back on the steel clamp that fits over the assembly which holds down the shield, the spring, and keeps the 4 ball bearings in place. The ball bearings may be tricky though as they tend to fall out when your putting the assembly back together.

E3 code

Received from Danby customer support:
"The error code of E3 tells us that the unit is not getting the proper water temperature to continue thru the entire cycle. Before starting the dishwasher and attaching the quick connect assembly to the faucet, please make sure that the water from the faucet is warm to the touch; you can then attach the quick connect assembly with hose to the faucet and start the unit. If the water temperature does not reach 120 degrees F the dishwasher will not be able to run thru the entire cycle properly. If this is being done and the same code comes up, we will need a service tech in you area to diagnose the problem for us. For a warranty servicer in your area you can reach us at 800-263-2629 Mon-Thu 8:30-5 or Fri 8:30-4 EST."

Danby DDW496W Leaking Brand new

Check your hose connections in the back for tightness and sealing (there should be some rubber seals inside the screw-in connections) and if tight and not leaking, you might have a loose clamp inside the unit, or a leaking/damaged hose, or even a defective/leaking pump. If it is brand new and returnable I'd return it for a new one rather than try to fix it...

DISHWASHER WONT DRAIN

Have you checked the drain hose??? It may be clogged to some degree or where it meets either the garbage disposal or t-tailpiece, whichever you have, or where it comes out of the water pump. Also, the impeller inside the water pump might look good but may be worn, and check for broken glass which is hard to see in the bottom drain area at the grate. Hope this helps.
