Question about Logitech Wireless Access Duo Optical Desktop Keyboard/Mouse KBWIREOPT

Open Question

My Imac magic mouse, coupled with my new Imac, has an intermittent problem. Sometimes on start up the green light under the mouse does not illuminate, steady or intermittently. I have changed the batteries and under inspection, notice that there is a sort of white rust on the battery contact points in the mouse. On cleaning, the mouse operates normally. I operate in a dry normal environment with the mouse on a wooden desk. Is this going to be a continuous problem and what can I do about it. Once the mouse is inoperative, one cannot go to the ''help'' menu for advice of course. Do I throw this magic mouse in the bin?

I would make sure that the battery is fitting in it snug. Make sure the contacts are clean in the mouse and on the battery. Make sure the battery is good, sometimes you can get new batteries mixed up with the old ones.

Uninstalling the logitech software and using Windows 7 default drivers appear to solve the issue. I haven't had mine stutter or just not respond since.

Press the button on the top right side of the key board, if the green light lights up you have power in the key board. Turn your mouse over and the green light should be on if the mouse has power.

Mouse and keyboard will not work

Does your imac have the proper bluetooth? If this is a new issue with existing equipment open the bluetooth menu and find devices. You may need a wired mouse to get the proper fix set.

My iMac running 10.6.1 will not recognise Magic Mouse to set up preferences.

You may need the software on this page unless you have installed it before.

But according to the article on this page you require 10.6.2 (which has not been released yet) to use the magic mouse

Microsoft Wireless 3000 Mouse works sporadically (XP)

Turn off all other "wireless" devices (cell-phones, wireless telephones, iPhone) in your home, and see if the light on the receiver is "solid" on.

IMac bluetooth mouse won't move cursor

Did you seperately setup the mouse? Even if you have, go into the Bluetooth preferences under System Preferences. Select the mouse & delete it. Setup a "New Bluetooth Device" and select "Mouse." Be sure to press the Reset button for 2-3 seconds to get the mouse into "Discoverable" mode. Your Mac will then setup the mouse automatically.
If this does not work, the Bluetooth chip in the mouse may be defective.

Microsoft wireless notebook optical mouse 1023 - not working!

If you know that the battery is good then try this next. There is a VERY tiny shark-fin shaped spring-loaded button on the bottom of the mouse that is pressed in, when you insert the receiver, while the mouse is not in use, that turns off the mouse to save the batteries. If you haven't used the mouse in a while, it can get stuck in the in position, so that when you pull out the receiver, it doesn't spring out and turn the mouse on (indicated by the red light on the bottom). If you notice that the light isn't coming on. Just try manually pushing in the little shark-fin thing a couple times to make it spring back out. After a couple times, you should be able to get it unstuck and the red light should come on.
