Canon Imagerunner 220- Autofeeder not working

Canon Imagerunner 220- The automatic document feeder makes a sound as if its running- but the main wheel that seems to be the one that pulls the paper through doesn't look to be turning at all. The paper never moves and i am using the regular plate which is a pain when you have a large document to copy. any ideas?

There is the possiblity that the document feed rollers and seperation pads are dirty and need cleaning and or replaced. and or the clutch that turns the rollers is slipping or burned out.

i would start with the rollers and pad they are least expensive and easiest to replace.

There is a black dotted line whenever I make copies on the cannon imagerunner 400s

It's either a speck on the scanner glass for the document feeder, or a smear of toner on one of the rollers. Check the skinny band of glass inside the document feeder for specks and clean it with a lint-free soft cloth and a little rubbing alcohol or a very little bit of water.

Hello,
It can be the problem in sensor flapper on ADF tray ( small nose that is pointing out ). Maybe it doesn't works fine or in the middle of the copy from adf the paper is too far away from the sensor.
Also can be the problem of ADF pickup clutch or You are using unappropriate paper type- try with normal A4 80g/m as original to copy from adf.

Hope that something of this helps You!

Canon 1023if auto feeder not working. Says check

The document feeder has multiple sensors in it. sometimes they hang up and stay stuck out of place. Other sensors might get paper dust on the face of the sensor. If you can open the document cover, locate the sensors and see if any are ajar or the sensor flag fell out of place. Also look to see if a paper is stuck in any of the paper path areas. Not seeing the machine it is hard to say if it fed paper and says check document, if it did, clean the feed wheels with a wet paper towel.
