Question about Televison & Video
I have a 2004 WS65713. Yesterday it started having problems. First, the screen started blinking on and off. Then the remote wouldn't operate the volume control. I turned off the TV manually, pushing the power button. This morning the TV will not come on. I hit the reset button, the power button blinked and then went off. The power did not return. I unplugged the TV and let it sit about 1 minute and plugged it back in. The power button flashed but the TV will not respond to the remote, and will not respond to the power button on the front of the console.
Have you have had this reported previously?
What might I do to fix this - or is it something that I need a professional to fix?
Or, is the TV shot?
Please let me know what you can about this problem.
Thank you in advance
I am not sure without seeing the tv, but I believe you have a leaking fluid picture tube. Intermittent and unusual problems usually lead me to locating drops of fluid on the chassis. The fluid is conductive and corrosive and cannot be repaired. Try taking off the speaker grill and the small access board and VERY carefully, look for spots of fluid. Look carefully near the front of the printed circuit board (nearest you).
