DW not running

The loud buzz may not be the timer but the motor failing to start. If yes, then it would probably be the starting capacitor. On some versions the capacitor is 21mfd / 330v , for your model pls confirm Part Number is MSC330V21. other possibilities include:
  • Circulation pump #42 PD140016
  • Seal set #1 PD100042
Most parts would be available at

Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Crosley CDC610B Freestanding dishwasher The dial hums when I try to start the dishwasher. If I open the door and bang on the inside of where the timer is a few times, then slam it shut, the dishwasher...

I am a homeowner. I am not familiar with that model. I have a built in Maytag dishwasher and the timer is on an electronic circuit board. Yours sounds like a mechanical timer, may have plastic gears/moving parts similar to the timer on my maytag dryer. You will have to open up your door and expose the timer. I would imagine it will have a wire harness. Without knowing the anatomy of your dishwasher, I would imagine there are screws securing the interior panel (facing the inside of the dishwasher) to the exterior panel. You may need to remove all or some of these screws to expose the control panel's guts (which includes the timer) On my dishwasher only the top screws needed to be removed. I was able to replace the circuit board and get my dishwasher working again. Once you expose the timer you can go from there. I found a link: that may be of help. Good luck!

Whirlpool dishwasher wont change cycles

wow, good move with the heating element. most folks don't know about how that relates. if that stuff is good, it must be the timer. or at least the small motor which turns the timer. good luck

Hi my hoover 6612 dishwasher does its pre-wash but then when the light for wash comes on it does nothing. I wondered if it might be a capacitor which needed replacing but I can't find one - any ideas??

Check the float switch inside the tub, it should move freely up and down.

Check the harness to the motor

Check start capacitor on the left side of the wash motor

Problem with Kenmore Dishwasher

You have a bad control board/touch pad. All D/W's that have a solid state timer panel have a obvious problem in my eyes.......STEAM/CONDENSATION....both are in contact with a CIRCUIT BOARD!!!!! NOT TO MENTION IT'S HARDLEY PROTECTED IN THE FIRST PLACE from moisture. These errors NEVER EXISTED on rotary turning timers.Leave the lights and fancy display panels to video games.Consumers are being ripped off by bad designing and cheap quality control.
