Hi,

First did you make any updations to the software installed to access the brother 8480 for copying. If it was working fine earlier then its for sure that the settings have changed. I would request you to check the article bellow to verify the idle settings for duplex copying.

http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public/us/ca/en/faq/faq_list.html?reg=us&c=ca&lang=en&prod=mfc8480dn_us&Cat=13

Thanks for contacting Fixya and please accept the solution if it has helped you.

Fax default

I found this online today:

Mode Timer

The (Brother MFC-8480 DN) machine has 3 mode keys on the control panel: Fax, Scan and Copy

You can set how much time the machine takes after the last COPY or SCAN operation to return to FAX mode. If you choose OFF, the machine will stay in the mode you last used.

1. Press MENU, 1, 1.

2. 2. Press up/down arrows to choose the amount of seconds or OFF. Press OK.

3. 3. Press STOP/EXIT. I haven't tested this yet, as the machine I'm trying to adjust is at my workplace, but maybe this answer is what we're looking for.

What does E3 mean on a Cs6000 Brothr machine? I do not have my manuel

Hi
Here's a copy of the manual from the Brother site.
http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users%20Manual/UM_CS_6000_ES_2000_EN_185.PDF
Look on page 64 of the PDF file for the error codes.
I think E3 means:

Problem: The buttonhole or bar tack stitch was selected and

the foot controller was pressed (or the start/stop button

was pressed if the foot controller is not connected)

while the buttonhole lever is raised.

Solution: Lower the buttonhole lever
before continuing the operation

Memory card

I believe this error indicates the memory card is FULL, and you need to copy some save files (blocks) over to another memory card OR delete some files (blocks) of of that card.

You'll have to stuff another memory card in there at the same time (IIRC there are 2 memory card slots) that has some room on it.

Good luck,
Rob

IBM xseries 205, Model 8480-43X Memory upgrade an POST BEEP

Those beeps mean that your RAM is not functioning. Are you sure you got the right upgrade type. Sometimes it'll fit into socket but won't work because of speed. Or just try reseating the modules.

Canon jx200 fax machine

The fax automatically turns off Auto Print and stores faxes in memory when either ink or paper is low. The memory will store up to 30 transmissions or 60 pages maximum, so it is important not to leave this too long if you have heavy transmission volume.

Faxes can be retrieved as follows.

If you want to choose only certain faxes to print:
1. Print a list of documents in memory for reference:
Press Menu. Use arrows (up & down) to select Memory Reference, then press Start/Copy. Use the arrows to select Doc Memory List, and again press Start/Copy.
2. Print a document from memory (using the list printed in #1):
Press Menu. Use arrows (up & down) to select Memory Reference, then press Start/Copy. Use the arrows to select Print Document, and again press Start/Copy. The LCD will show the first number in memory (e.g., TX/RX NO. 0001).

Use the arrows to choose the document you want to print, and press Start/Copy. The LCD will then toggle between "1st page only?" and "Yes=(*) No=(#)". Press * to print only the first page, or # to print all pages.
3. Delete selected document(s) from memory:
Press Menu. Use arrows (up & down) to select Memory Reference, then press Start/Copy. Use the arrows to select Delete Doc, and again press Start/Copy. The LCD will show the first number in memory (e.g., TX/RX NO. 0001).

Use the arrows to choose the document you want to delete, and press Start/Copy. [Note - if the arrows do not result in another number displaying, there is only one document in memory.] The LCD will show "Yes=(*) No=(#)". Press * to delete the document. Continue to select documents until each document you want to delete has been handled.

If you want to print all unprinted documents in memory:
1. If you want to have a list of documents in memory for reference before performing this procedure, to be sure you have them all, follow step 1 from the above procedure for printing selected documents.]
2. Press Menu. Use arrows (up & down) to select Memory Reference, then press Start/Copy. Use the arrows to select Print All New RX, and again press Start/Copy.
3. Delete all printed docs from memory:
Immediately after printing all documents, you will have the choice of deleting all documents. The LCD will display "Yes=(*) No=(#)". Press * delete all, or # to retain in memory.

To delete all documents at a later time:
Press Menu. Use arrows (up & down) to select Memory Reference, then press Start/Copy. Use the arrows to select Delete Printed RX, and again press Start/Copy. The LCD will display "Yes=(*) No=(#)". Press * delete all, or # to retain in memory. To finish then, press Stop.

If you need further assistance, please post back. Otherwise, thank you for using and rating FixYa!

Vivicam 5386 copying images to memory card

To copy pictures from memory to your memory card turn your camera on and press the button above the menu button. This will start showing the pictures already on your memory card. Next, press menu and the down arrow. This down arrow is located on the round button with the "OK" in the center. Your choices should be DELETE, SLIDE SHOW, PROTECT, QUALITY CHANGE, RESIZE, and the one that you want,COPY TO CARD. Press OK and the camera will copy pictures from internal memory to the memory card. This information is on page EN-62 and EN-63. I know that this works because I was testing the information as I was typing it!
