Hi I am unable to use itunes on my computer. I installed and its asking to turn off the compatibity mode. And also I cannot view summary, photo etc tab on my iphone device.

Hi

First of all

1. Exit out of iTunes.

2. On the Windows Start Menu select Computer or My Computer Depending on the OS

3. Browse to the following location: C:\Program Files\iTunes.
Note: Windows 7 (64 bit)browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes.

4.Right-click on the iTunes application (iTunes or iTunes.exe) and select Properties.

5. Next select the Compatibility tab.

6.
Ensure that the options Run this program in compatibility mode and Run this program as an administrator are not checked. If they are checked please deselect these options, then select Apply, and OK. You should now be able to open iTunes with out receiving the error message about iTunes running in compatibility mode.

This should fix your problem.Still if your facing the same problem after performing the following steps:-

7. Open the Registry Editor by selecting the Windows Start button, typing regedit into the search box or the run box depending which OS your using eg- xp,vista,7 and then pressing Enter.

8.
Browse to the following location in the registry editor, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers, and highlight the Layers folder.

9. Delete the entry for the iTunes application (iTunes or iTunes.exe).

10. Close registry editor and restart the computer

You should now be able to open iTunes without receiving the error message about iTunes running in compatibility mode.If not please reply

Thanks & Regards

iTunes.exe has been set to run in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows. For best result, turn off compatibility mode of iTunes before you open it.
> 1. Make sure iTunes isn't running. 2. Click Start, type regedit, then press Enter. 3. Navigate to this Registry location:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers 4; Its better you clean/repair Windows registry with Reg In Out. 4. Look in the main pane for a key that refers to iTunes. If you find one, delete it, then exit the Registry. 5. Start iTunes. The offending message should be gone!

Make sure VBScript is installed, turn off script blocking in anti-virus and personal firewall software, reregister VBScript, and then install iTunes." Resolution Download and install the latest version of iTunes.
Install the latest VBScript engine from Microsoft for your Windows OS platform Windows 2000 Download and install VBScript version 5.6 for Windows 2000 from Microsoft, and then try installing iTunes or QuickTime again. Windows XP Download and install VBScript version 5.7 for Windows XP from Microsoft, and then try installing iTunes or QuickTime again. Windows Vista No download necessary. The latest VBScripting engine (version 5.7) is already included with Vista. Follow the steps below to register the VBSScript again if you still have this issue in Vista.
Register the VBScript engine again If the latest VBScript engine is already installed, register it again. Note that you must be logged in as administrator or logged in as a user with administrator privileges for the computer to execute these steps.
For Windows 2000 or Windows XP: 1. On the Start menu, click Run.
2. In the "Open" field dialog box, enter the following command and click OK:
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
3. A message should appear stating that the "DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded."
4. Click OK and try installing iTunes or QuickTime again.

My itunes does not start whwn i clicked on icon.

Here's some info that may help - picked up from other boards where similar problems reported.
First check to see if Quicktime works normally, iTunes will not work without it.
If Quicktime is OK, then use these troubleshooting articles: XP version http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1421 Vista version http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717
Have you installed any of the following: ACE & K-Lite mega codecs package, QT alternative, Storm codec, WinAVI video converter, Mpcstar, (possibly starcodec pack, 3ivx)
If so uninstall them, they are know to cause problems with Quickitme. Then download the version of Quickime without iTunes: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html Now Remove Quicktime using the method for Quicktime in this article (just Quicktime): XP http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 Vista http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 When you come to your C:\Windows\system32\ folder you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name. Restart you computer Install the stand alone Quicktime and check if it starts. If it does you are in a position to find out if iTunes is OK.
If Quicktime is OK, do you get any error message when you try to start iTunes? If not, open your task manager after trying to start iTunes. Do you see iTunes.exe running on the processes tab. If there is no error and you see iTunes.exe running then iTunes is hanging and we need to look at a slightly different route.

Sometimes it is just a problem with the itunes database file when it won't open after an upgrade. Press and hold the shift key while trying to start itunes. Does it give you an option to choose or create a new library? http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesWin/8.0/en/15502.html

Bonjour is a common cause of iTunes hanging at start up. i.e. silent launch failure with iTunes.exe running on the processes tab. You can uninstall bonjour if you don't need it. However it is required for sharing libraries and other things
You could also try uninstalling it, then downloading bonjour from Apple and installing it directly. http://support.apple.com/downloads/Bonjour_for_Windows

Moving my iTunes music to another disk (out of disk on the C driv

I got this from another forum.

Hold Shift down as iTunes starts up and it'll ask you to choose a library. Choose the one at the new location - dir iTunes - and it's fixed. I just did it having had the same problem.

Good Luck,
