Question about Maytag HAV2557 Top Load Washer
Just moved to a duplex, on the first load, drain cycle, water started shooting out the hose where it enters the house plumbing. The drain will not carry the water away fast enough when machine starts drain cycle. Is there a way to slow water being pumped out of machine? Hose has proper end and water shoots out "vent slots" at full stream. If I turn the machine off and on I can get it to drain.
Hello.Maybe the drain is blocked.it sounds like your machine is working ok to me,if you can hang the hose over the edge of a laundry tub & make sure the plug is out,see if the water drains away, otherwise it sounds like a plumbing problem not the machine.it started only after you moved houses so more likely the plumbing.hope i helped.

It sounds like your drain is clooged with lint. Have your drain snaked out and everything should be fine

Tips for a great answer:
Two things to consider....clean water or
Clean water usually indicates the fill valve
is not shutting off all the way and the fill valve is "weeping" water
in all the time = new fill valve time!!
Dirty water usually is not a dishwasher
problem but more of a plumbing issue. Often the sink drain that carries the
sinks water outside is not fast enough and some of this sink water is backing
up into the drain hose and filling up the dishwasher through the drain hose.
The drain from the sink to outside needs attention as this type of a problem
indicates a slow house drain for that sink.
The dishwasher drain line should be clamped to the top underneath part of the counter before entering the sink drain plumbing, this may help the water from coming back inside the dishwasher.
