When an ipod is dropped very often something will break. It sounds like the force of the fall took the hard drive out.
Try this,
Turn your ipod on, Press and Hold the Menu and the Center button until the apple logo appears, then quickly switch your fingers to the Back Button and the Center Button. This will put the iPod in Diagnostic mode.
Go Through all of the diagnostic tests and if it fails I/O or Hard Drive Test your chances are your Hard Drive will need replacing.
One other suggestion, Open the iPod and remove the Hard Drive cable for the Main Board and the hard drive. Flatten the cable ends by using your fingers to straighten the ends.
Re-install the cable and Hard Drive and see if your problem goes away.
Good Luck

Ipod classic 7th generation won't sync

Step 1:
With iTunes software, iPod users can manage their media libraries, purchase or import new content and synchronize their devices. The software has a number of convenient features, one of which is AutoSync. This feature will cause your iPod to automatically synchronize with iTunes immediately upon connecting the device to your computer. You can also set up iTunes so that you can manually sync your iPod.

Press the "Shift" and "Ctrl" keys on your computer keyboard simultaneously while you connect your iPod to the computer using its USB cord. Mac users will press "CMD + Option" while you connect. Continue to keep the keys pressed down while you monitor the iTunes window. Keep the keys pressed until you notice that Auto-Sync has stopped and your iPod icon has appeared in the Source pane of iTunes. Be patient, as this could take between 5 and 30 seconds. Right-click on the icon for your iPod in the Source pane, and then select "iPod Options." Click to put a check mark in the "Manually manage songs and playlists" check box. This finishes your task and you can now manually synchronize your iPod whenever you wish by simply clicking on the "Sync" button.

How to get music onto an iPod without removing the previous music

<p>Sometimes when adding music to your iPod through iTunes on a new computer or another computer, the program will attempt to synchronize the device with the music available on the computer. All songs on the iPod, but not in your iTunes library will be removed. This can cause problems for people who just want to add songs to your iPod without losing their old music. Fortunately, Apple allows users to manually add music to the device, avoiding the problems of synchronization. <br /> <p><br /> <p>1. Open iTunes. <br /> <p><br /> <p>2. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB cable. A prompt will appear warning that the device will synchronize the music to remove. Click "Cancel" if this happens. <br /> <p><br /> <p>3. Click the iPod listed under "Devices" in "Library". This opens the "Summary" page for the device. <br /> <p><br /> <p>4. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box to the bottom of the page. <br /> <p><br /> <p>5. Click on "Library" on the left sidebar of iTunes. Mark all the songs you want to add the device. Drag and drop it on the iPod listed under "Devices." <br />

How to transfer music/video from iPod to PC/iTunes 9

Anyone who has seen an iPod will understand the basic concept behind the design of the iPod touch: a 3.5-inch There are plenty of reasons why you want to transfer your music/video from iPod to iTunes or PC. For example, you may want to make backup your iPod music/video in case of hard drive crash, to retrieve iPod music/video when you accidentally deleted a song or video from your hard-drive, to share your music/video with your friend, to use your iPod with different or more than on computer, or to copy music/video to your new iPod.

Apple's iTunes really does work when it pulls iTunes purchased content off your iPod. The new iTunes 9 makes it easier to share music/video, movies, TV shows, and more. With Home Sharing, you can browse the iTunes libraries of up to five authorized computers in your house, import what you like, and automatically add new purchases made on any of the computers to your own library.

There are a lot of programs that can transfer iPod content to iTunes 9 and PC. But from the point view of both functionality and simplicity, there is an iPod music/video Transfer which works well with all models of iPods including the latest iPod Touch 3G and iPod Nano 5G. I dont know how to sync my ipod touck to itunes

Plugging your iPod Touch into your computer should automatically start iTunes. If not, plug your iPod into your computer and launch iTunes.

1. Under the iTunes menu, select "Preferences"
2. Select "Devices". This will allow you to activate automatic synchronization.

You may also select the device directly in iTunes, this will allow you to check manual synchronization, determine when iTunes launches and restore it to factory settings.

How do i unlock my ipod nano i accidentally forgot the code?

  1. The most obvious and will not work for most people (or else you wouldn't be visiting this web site). Simply enter the 4 digit combination/pass code at Extras > Screen Lock.
  2. Connect your iPod to the first computer it was synced with or the computer set as the primary one in iTunes. Open the iTunes application, then disconnect your iPod from the computer, and it should no longer be locked.
  3. Use this final way only if the first two options do not work for you because it is a destructive process. Everything on your iPod will be erased.
This should not be a problem if you have all of your songs, videos, and other media stored in iTunes and you can synchronize once again after getting the iPod unlocked. Besides, if you don't unlock your iPod it's useless right? Learn how to Restore your iPod using the instructions from Apple's site.

IPod Nano FROZE

Have you tried removing the battery for about a minute, then replacing it and trying to turn it on? Unfortunately, little things like this are great, but very susceptible to vibration.

Hope this helps, and please remember to rate my answer, good OR bad.

Good luck!
