Question about Phones

1 Answer

I cannot get the built in answering sytem to take messages even though it is turn on. All it does is say :you have reached the message bank of 0350242534: but I do not want that. How can I get it to go to the built in one. I have recorded my message and it plays back when i turn the answering on. So there must be something else wrong.

It seems like key button problem. The touch surface below buttons must be clean well.

Give its mfg and model number to search web if there is a user guide or service manual downloadable.

But also since quarranty has not expired it can be cost free troubleshooted and if is defective, repaired or replaced by an authorized service shop.

I need to reprogram the message to each extension but I do not have the owners manual. Also I need to change the message for the mailbox when people call in to the office and the office is closed so they...

en tso person at 102 dials 107 or 115, he gets a "welcome to the Panasonic voice processing system" message or similar. WIth a (n optional) password, he can enter the mailbox and make changes to the greetings and name. (possibly option 4 or 5) 1,2,3. That changes the name.

Sorry for the 1/3 answer, but you only answered 1 of 3 questions. The sytem is not a 7736, but a TA/TAW or TDA phone SYSTEM and a TVA or TVS or embedded Voice Mail.

I gave an answer based on TA-824 and TVA-50. When you figure out what that black and blue box is (TVA-50) see if you can find a manual with how it was installed. Your sytem own'er's mailbox (999) lets you control the dial by name directory and reset passwords.

I have a XS1455 answering m/c. Have a problem

Messagebank provides a personal answering service if your phone line is busy or you can't get to the phone. You don't need extra equipment like answering machines, and you also get greater flexibility on call waiting- if you don't want to interrupt your call, let messagebank take your message. Let me know if this answers your question. Master FixYa: saailer@att.net

Phone only rings three times before going to my message bank

If its going to your carriage service provider message bank then you need to reset this for a longer period. The carrier message bank is managed by the carrier.

If the cordless has an answering service, then you need to scroll through the menu on the phone to select answering functions and select 6 rings or longer.

Picking up messages remotely

Try this...
See if this works for you.

Remote Operation
When you are away from home, you can operate your answering system with any
touch-tone telephone.Use this function to check for recorded messages, to play or
delete messages, even record a new greeting message.
1) Call your telephone number.
2) During the greeting message, press 0 and enter your PIN code.
3) The answering system announces the current time and the number of messages
stored in memory. Then you hear "To play incoming message, press zero two.
For help, press one zero."
4) You may continue to listen to the voice prompts, or you may select a command
from the following chart:

Command Function
0 then 1 Repeat a Message
0 then 2 Play Incoming Messages
0 then 3 Skip a Message
0 then 4 Delete a Message
0 then 5 Stop Operation
0 then 6 Answering System On
0 then 7 Memo Record/Stop*
0 then 8 Greeting Message Record/Stop*
0 then 9 Answering System Off
1 then 0 Voice Prompts

If you forgot to turn on answering system the directions for that are here:

Turn on the Answering System Remotely
If you have forgotten to turn on your answering system, you can turn it on remotely
from any touch-tone telephone.
1) Call your telephone number.
2) Wait ten rings until the system answers. You hear intermittent beeps.
3) Press 0 and then enter your PIN code. The answering system announces the
number of messages stored in memory. You hear "To play incoming message,
press zero two. For help, press one zero."
4) Press 0 then 6 to turn the answering system On. You hear the outgoing message
and a confirmation tone.
5) Hang up the phone; subsequent calls will be answered by the system.

Voice mail issue

Here is what is suppose to happen. Once you leave a message at Rogers, they are to send your phone a "stutter dial tone" signal back to your phone. When you phone gets this signal, it is to light your messag light. So we need to figure out if Rogers is sending the signal, and if your light is working. So, leave yourself a message. Give Rogers a minute or two to send the signal. Pick up your phone to make a call. Do you hear a "stuttery" type dial tone? If not, it sounds as if the Rogers system is not providing the signal. Okay, if your light is not on, then lets test the light by taking the Rogers VM out of the equation. Go to your Panasonic answering machine menu, and turn it on, then turn the number of rings set to 1, and save that. Now call the phone. It should answer after a ring or two, and your call should never make it to Rogers AM. Leave a message and see if your Panasonic answering machine takes the message and lights the light. If it does not light the light even though your message was recorded and saved, then you may have a bad light. If it lights the light, go back into your menu and turn the machine off, and look for any settings regarding using the "telephone company voice mail" or review your message light settings, etc. Hope this helps
