Do you get any kind of error message? try to clean the terminals of the memory stick using a clean soft eraser. reinsert ms inside cam. see if you can get to format the ms using camera. if still not working try to see if a ms reader or other camera can recognized your ms. if not then it might actually be a recording media issue and not the camera. try using a different compatible memory stick to further isolate issue. see: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/support-info.pl?&info_id=12&mdl for checking compatibility. if another ms works then no issue with camera. if it doesnt it might be a camera issue. make sure ms is inserted correctly and properly. initialize or reset cam back to factory settings. if still this doesn't work unit may need service. hope this helps. thanks:)

Camera wont read the disk

Coolpix cameras do not have a disk; they use an SC memory card. When you put a new SC card in the camera, you must format it before you use it. Go into your camera's Menu. Under Setup, you will find "Format memory card". Once your SC card is formatted it should work.

Format internal memory

My internal memory takes only 3 pictures. I bought an appropriate disk and all is well - and with the disk I can download to my computer.

I would not rely on the internal memory if you want to take lots of pictures.

Pro photographers avoid this very common problem by always using a diskreader. You've found that this method works very well so stop worrying and enjoy. As far as the problem with the pics on the internal memory of the camera, go into the menu and find "copy". It will give you the option to copy the internal memory to a memory card.

possibility: the memory card is not formatted in a way that your computer to recognize it.
give this a try...
*format the memory card first (FAT32 or NTFS) using your computer
*put the memory card back to your cam, then click away
*then try to read it again in the pc.

Panasonic Lumix will not read memory card.

Hi,

try formatting your cd card in your Fz. If it keeps telling you memory error, try using it in windows, put data on it, to see wether it can hold them and read them too.
Happeded to me once too, format did the job. Just format it in the camera, not your pc.

Keeps saying disk protect

These old electronics tend to be tempermental, just like my old 1988 Nintendo....when the problem persisted, I held the disk slot open and went Nintendo-style on it (blow the dust out of the disk slot). That cleaned off the disk reader. I put the disk in, and it started reading the disk instantly.
