Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Hi :) Hope you can help. I have a double drawer fisher & paykel dishwasher. In the middle of the night a couple of weeks ago it started up making very loud whirring noises. We could not turn the power off, my flatmate who is an electrician had to remove the fuse to get it to turn off. We have never had problems with it previously. Is this common? Pls help. Thank you. Donna.

Sound slike it has detected a waterleak, this particular machine has a sensor o nthe bottom of caibnet , that when water is detected, it automatically powers up and turns on the pumps , it will stay on unitl the water dries up and/or you shut off the power,As fasr as common problem,, welll the fact it s doing what its doing is common, but why is the water on the flkoor is the real issue and that can be a few different issues, if your able to remove the bottom drawer from the tracks it slides put on there is a tech sheet glued to the back walll behid the lowwer drawer, thers is a pretty good walkthrough trouble shooter as well as somre god diag tricks and tips

Have the Fisher & Paykel single drawer dishwasher ds 603 and put it on a normal cycle last night. It started as per normal and sometime during its cycle it stopped and the drawer now seems locked. ...

It is very likely the thermal fuse has blown or the power supply board has had it. Either way the power to the controller and the drawer lid seal motors is cut off. This is why the drawer is in locked state as the motors have seized.

You have no choice but to force open the drawer to get access to the affected parts. Make sure the mains power to dishwasher is turned off as the base will be live.

Replacing the power board is easy but if the thermal fuse is blown then you are up for a large cost as it is integral in the heating element.

Refer this document for details of parts and location. Heater is item 17 on page 18 and powerboard is item 15 on page 13. (the document is for double drawer model but it just doubles up on parts)

You can get a rough idea of the parts cost from this site. Depends where you live.

Hope you are able to get it fixed.

How do you remove the drawers on a fisher & paykel 2 drawer dishwasher please

Open the drawer, on both sides, near the front there is a small circulat pin, with a slot in the middle, grab the middle with a pliers, and pull straight out, with this out, the square button in front of the hole will push in, and slide it slightly back, then the drawer will slide out, and you can lift it off the rails.

Actually the part is called a Link Actuator. There is one for the upper drawer and one for the lower. When the drawer is shut, it will actuate and the dishwasher will lift the drawer up against the upper lid. When the actuator is broken, this will trigger the flood switch which inturn triggers the F1 code. In the meantime, when the dishwasher is turned on, the water will shoot over the side walls of the drawer and get down below to damage the terminal block module.

I'm not really sure. With the double drawer configuration, I know the top drawer is larger than the bottom drawer. If I had to take a guess, I would say the single drawer might fit in the top of the double drawer.
