had XP and recently explorer8 was installed, HP printer 6210 is up and running on exp8 but dont have the directory to it that allows you the following prompt to the printer
eg. how low are the cartridges? resize copy of image, scan, clean cartridges, darker or lighter image, many others.
Whilst some of these prompts can be obtain from the printer console some cant.
The Disk for the printer is not compatible with exp8 .
    Help!!

explorer 8 is not an operating system. it is a browser. just like any other firefox mozilla, google chrome, opera etc. correct me if I'm wrong. but if you mean to say that you moved from XP to maybe windows 7 or may be unix OS. that i will understand. but all in all, just reinstall its application software from here.
just make sure you choose the right Operating system above and download the "application"

I don't have the installation disk for the HP OfficeJet 6210 All-In-One InkJet Printer and need to install it to my new computer

You can order one from HP or download what you need from their website. It's going to take awhile to download as the file is usually very large.

Since there are 3 6210 models, you have to start here http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=officejet+6210

Put in your model number and operating system and the files you need will be displayed. You will also be given a chance to order a CD.

Can't Scan with my HP 6210 All-in-One

Hi Kal,

I've included a procedure to get current drivers. But since your 6210 has been working, I thought we might try this first. The following link will bring you to a page describing an HP utility that specifically addresses your problem. Read through it and follow it's lead.

HP Scan Diagnostic Utility

For the correct 6210 drivers:

Click this link for for HP Software & Driver Downloads page.

Once there, select your Operating System (XP)

The next screen will offer several download options:

Under Drivers:
Select the appropriate driver for your application/situation.
Be mindful of the download sizes. One of them is pretty hefty and could take a while.

The first option should take care of your scan problem without all the reinstall turmoil. But, if it doesn't, option two will.

Any problems, let me know. We'll handle it.

Hope this helps

Mike
