Question about Acer Computers & Internet

Internet connecting problem

Hi I have a problem with connecting to the internet using certain programs.

works: firefox, icq, skype, teamspeak, hamachi, torrent, some main win updates

doesnt work: IE (weird it doesnt work at all, while ff has no probs), any program updates, doesnt matter if its game, drivers, programs like dvix player, antiviruses updates, I just cant update anything, I need to update everything manually from ftp downloads. Most of theese programs tells me I have something with proxy configuration... It will be a year since I experienced this problem. I tried hundreds of antiviruses and internet providers since then (I have connection from work, school, home, colledge) and its starting to get on my nerves, I am thinking about reinstalling whole os atm.

there is one program that helps me to get over this for a short time, that is ''your freedom''. If I start this I can update anything and run IE, but it has limitation and it has a snail speed :D

when I tried to dig deeper, I looked up all programs/connection preferences, I allowed everything I found, disabled every internet protections I had, still nothing. But I found this when I ran windows performance analysis: ''Zařízení, Microsoft 6t04 Adapter, error tv*ConfigMgrErr31. Toto zařízení bude k dispozici až po odstranění potíží. ID Plug and Play is 22'' and I have bunch of these adapters in drivers manager which keeps poping up when I delete them.

Steps I took: http://forums.techguy.org/networking/754869-6t04-adapter-no-internet-access.html

First remove the antivirus suites and firewalls. Open IE Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> Lan Setup Check whether "USe proxy server..." check box is checked. If so untick it. Apply and Ok. Then check. If you are bot sure whether you have a proxy or not you can chose "Automatically detect settings". That will override manual configs how ever. Alternatively you can check Connection settings of Firefox since it is working.
Check the device manager for the adapter status. Right click on My computer and go to manage. If it has yellow exclamation marks or red X as you said that means a device failure or driver failure. If so you have to rollback the drivers and if it doesn't work uninstall and re install drivers. Use Add Remove programs if a software is there. If you use a software to configure / access the network appliance (if you have one like a wireless router) un install and re install it.
Check this thread as well.
This 6to4 adapter is a IPv6-to-IPv4 conversion layer. If you are not using IPv6 communications across IPv4 routers, you do not need 6to4 enabled. You can disable it. What is the IP address you are using? Is it ip v 4 or 6? Check using ipconfig using a command window (cmd.exe in run box and hit enter). Not necessary to use IPv6 (only if your college or etc etc use IPv6. Check this thread as well. isatap will not work on Vista but it doesn't do any harm though. :D

I think the problem isn't the program, but the internet connections.
Make sure your internet connection such as modem properly installed, then make sure it's connected to the line.

How can we download skype in lg ku990

look on skype site there are solutions for mobile phones to program and downloding and if you cant download it

Instead of using Skype on your mobile phone you may want to consider downloading Nimbuzz. It works just like Skype - is free to use - and seems to have better results.

It combines all your buddies from Skype, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AIM, Google Talk and more.

To get Nimbuzz simply go to this link and type in your phone number and the program will automatically be sent to your phone.

Firefox is slow to open and getting a lot of error messages saying websites are not a valid url.

Here are some steps follow it to resolve your issue:
1. Uninstall the latest buggy Skype plug-in: If you are experiencing that Facebook, GMail or Google Reader are really crawling and you’ve recently updated Skype to version 4.1 and installed the Skype plug-in for Firefox, try uninstalling the Skype plug-in, but leave the main Skype program installed. That should help. Hopefully, Skype will update this plug-in soon because, reading the tweets on slow firefox, it’s certainly responsible for driving a number of people away to other browsers, particularly Chrome.
2. Check how much memory Firefox is using: Bring up Windows Task Manager with Ctrl-Alt-Del in Windows XP or Crtl-Alt-Esc in Vista and go to the Processes tab. Look for the process called firefox.exe and check the memory usage: for example, 230,000K is 230MB. Try cutting back on the number of tabs you have open and uninstall any plug-ins you really don’t need and see if this brings down memory usage. If you’re anything like me, you’ll have installed plug-ins which seemed a good idea at the time but which you now rarely, if ever use. Uninstall them.
3. Do some maintenance: Use a program like CCleaner (for Windows) or BleachBit (for Windows or Linux) to clear your browser temporary files, internet cache and browser history regularly.
4. Modify the Firefox config file: Here’s some tweaks which involve modifying the config file for Firefox. I’d heard some of these a while ago on the Mike Tech Show podcast, also at Life Rocks 2.0. It’s not difficult to edit the config file. Just type about:config in the Firefox address bar and press enter. Then type network.http in the filter field. This will filter the list down to only those with network.http in the name. Now make the following changes:
  • Double click on ‘network.http.pipelining’ and set the value to true (double clicking toggles the value between true and false).
  • Double click on network.http.pipelining.maxrequests’ and in the dialog box enter a value higher than the default value 4. According to Mozillazine, the maximum you can use is 8.
  • Double click on ‘network.http.proxy.pipelining’ and set the value to true.
  • Again in the filter field enter ‘browser.sessionstore.interval‘ (without the quotes), double click on the entry and change the value from 10000 (10 secs) to 120000 (2 minutes). This adjusts how frequently Firefox creates session restore save points. Firefox will now take a snapshot of your browsing session every 2 minutes instead of every 10 seconds.
  • Right click on the page and select New->Integer. Enter the name nglayout.initialpaint.delay and then click ok. Set the integer value of this to 0 and click ok.
You can find additional great config file tweaks at Technically Personal.
5. Disable Firebug: If you’re using Firebug, it can slow Firefox to a crawl.
6. Optimize Firefox’s SQL database: Firefox uses SQLite databases to store lots of its settings. With time, the databases grow and Firefox slows down. Use either Vacuum Places Improved, a Firefox add-on, or SpeedyFox, a stand-alone app to compact these databases without losing any data. I prefer SpeedyFox as I like to keep the number of Firefox add-ons to a minimum. Only works in Windows at the moment though. Thanks again to Life Rocks 2.0 for this tip. I also use the portable version which doesn’t modify the Windows registry.
7. If you’re still not happy with Firefox, there’s a terrific Firefox Troubleshooting Guide over on MakeUseOf.com. And have a look at this post at Dedoimedo for more suggestions.
8. And if you’re still not happy, try Google Chrome – it’s a worthy alternative to Firefox.

How to chat using telnet in vista

Telnet is not the greatest programme to use for chat. However, Vista does not have telnet enabled as default. To install it go to:

Start menu->Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features

on left select Turn windows features on and off

After a while a box will appear = look for Telnet Client and select it and press ok

Now go to Start Menu->Programs->Accessories
select Command Prompt
enter telnet and the IP Address of the computer you wish to connect with
-----------------------------------------

However, for chat I would suggest the more traditional chat programmes.

MSN Messenger (Free from Internet)
Yahoo Messenger (Free from Internet)
ICQ Messenger (Free from Internet)
AIM Messenger (Free from Internet)

If most of your email contacts are using Hotmail then use MSN, http://download.live.com/?sku=messenger
if they use AOL then use AIM http://dashboard.aim.com/aim
If they use Yahoo then use Yahoo Messenger http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com/
Otherwise use ICQ http://www.icq.com/

Happy Chatting

If this helped you then please vote kindly!

Hi,I want to make a messanger sharing text, voice and video chat

I would suggest using one of the many free instant message programs available, MSN, Skype, Meebo, ICQ etc.

If you want to create your own from scratch, then you will need to become familar with a programming technology such as Microsoft Visual Studio.

Teamspeak Won't Work with Vista

Look at TeamSpeak overlay with PlayClaw. The main task of PlayClaw is to record game video but it have ability to show Teamspeak & Ventrilo overlays. Works fine with Vista/W7, but only one restriction - voip client must be 32 native (not 64) app. Windows may be in any bits: 32 or 64
