Question about RIM BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone

1 Answer

Hi, i got my daughter a 2nd hand blackberry. Unfortunately the previous owner did not "clean" it - as in wipe photos, contacts etc. My daughter also wants her own email and PIN to use. Can I reset the BB to factory settings which will then enable a new email to be set up and a new PIN?

Go to options, security options, general settings, then press the menu key (the button with the 7 dots on it) then select the wipe handheld option.

You can restore the device to factory settings using a computer and iTunes. For step-by-step instructions you can check out the following page on Apple's website.

Kenwood ddx 7019 password reset

Hi,

It looks like the unit has a code programmed into it in the past. If this unit is second hand try contacting the previous owner for the code. If it's new from the shop, then contact the shop. The last option is to contact Kenwood and they can reset the code for you. Unfortunately there is no other way...

Delete contacts on blackberry bold 9700

As long as you haven't done anything on the phone yet, you can do a factory reset. To do so, you go into the settings > security > security wipe, and check any boxes. Type blackberry and hit Wipe Data.

I locked the damn thing before i went on holiday and when i came back i gave it to a mate, he locked it up, i have the data backed up so a full wipe would be okay, i have no manuals so my question...

That's simple my friend. If you want to unlock blackberry 7290 password and don't care about your previous data, just type any password until you fail 10 times and your blackberry unlocked from old password.

My blackberry has a white screen and i have tried allsorts to try and get it working again

You need to wipe your device and install a new Operating System, using Desktop manager or Blackberry Swiss Army Knife. Unfortunately you have lost all your data unless you previously backed up on your computer.

How do I change an email account?

You will most likely need to wipe the device before setting up your email. This will remove all personal information on the device including mail, contacts, calendars, etc. To do this you should be able to go into the options (usually looks like a wrench) then scroll down and click on security. In the security screen clicking on one of the first options will pop up a menu where one of the options should be wipe handheld. Click on wipe handheld and follow the prompts. Once the device resets you should be able to configure it for your mail.

You can perform a device wipe:
  1. Go to Options > Security Options > General Settings.
  2. Click the track wheel and select Wipe Handheld.
This will clear out all the previous owner's information.
