Question about Kohler Toilet - One Piece with Ingenium Flushing System - San Raphael by

1 Answer

Hi we have 2 Kohler toilets with The ingenium fluishing system. There is a polished trip lever externally. Internally there are 2 plastic lever atached the the plus by a chain. On one toilet the chain has snapped and causes the ring to stick leaving the drain permanently open and the cistern leaking. There is no distributor in Australia who has a replacement part for this particular toilet system. Can you help me. Kind Regards Pauline Hogg. Newcastle Australia

Ok, you simply need to get another, any other length of chain, say like a Sink plug chain, any chain, will work. and attach it however you can. Binding, Glue, whatever it takes. It's only a method of attachment, one can even use a length or strong Copper Wire. As long as you can make it "Connect" with each end. it is NOT critical, in it's action. or how it is attached. As related as long as you can get it to function, it is really irrelevant, what you use, or how you attach it. As long as it works, you can use whatever it take to do so. So now, go forth and fix your cistern...

The holes around the inside of the bowl may be clogged, try using some CRL and scrubbing the holes with a good stiff brush.

Ingenium toilet water will not turn off. The float is completely under water and still water is coming into the tank.

WEll, two thoughts come to mind. either your float has "sunk" or you have foreign matter in the inlet valve...Typically, you replace the inlet valve in this case.

After flushing the toliet makes a humming sound.

you have to turn the lever or knob in the reverse direction to plug the hole properly, the noise would go away.

Float does not trigger valve to stop water - continues to run even though tank is full

What kind of flush valve is it? shows a couple of different towers with their ingenium toilets. Is it a Kohler item or is it a Fluidmaster?
Usually you adjust water height by turning a threaded rod that runs up and down. See page 5 of this pdf

Toilet fill runs periodically works well but wastes water

Sounds like your flapper is leaking causing the water in the tank to lower until it triggers the fill valve. Replace the flapper (they're cheap and wear out easily).

How do you get the top plastic cap off the Kohler Ingenium flush

My Kohler Ingenium has no pins. The white cap is attached to the grey lever which must be lifted up before twisting both one-eighth turn counter-clockwise, and lifting off of fill tube. Turn the water supply back on and flush the tube out (cover with cup first!). Use a thin wire rod about 12" long to gently poke down into fill tube to clear any clogs. Also check where the small flexible fill tube exits from the main fill tube. Reassemble and cross your fingers.
