This is a Dell problem. THEY KNOW ABOUT IT AND WILL DO NOTHING. It is only when it runs Vista. It doen't happen with XP. So the spokesperson told me. This happened to me about 3 months ago. I ended up having to go back to factory settings with the brown disc that came in your box. Mine has just done it again. NOT HAPPY AT ALL. Dell spokesperson told me the executives have had meetings on this but has done nothing. Never ever buy a DELL!!!!!!
THis didn't work for me but others have tried - hit F8 when turning on. A repair page will come up. GOOD LUCK!

Booting with External DVD for Dell Inspiron 1525

Power on your system, Press F2 on Dell logo. This would take you to system BIOS. Ensure that USB controller is ON, and USB emulation is also set to ON. Save settings and Exit. System would reboot now. Press F12 on Dell logo, and select USB ROM as the boot device. This should boot your computer through your External drive. If it still doesnt work, try switching to a different USB port. If none of these steps work, it may be a problem with the boot sector on your External drive.

Good Luck!

How do i restart 1525 with a blue screen

Try pressing F8 repeatedly during boot sequence, select "last known figuration that worked".

If that doesn'e work reboot and do it again, select safe mode and try system restore.

Dell Inspiron 1525 Blue screen & windows error messages/reformat

Do a recovery first and if you are still getting a blue screen on this 1525 call dell and ask for a replacment do not go any further in trying to repair it yourself as anything you do would just make matters worse if its out of warrenty then the only thing you can do is try:

1. clean the unit if there is any dust
2. try new memory modules
3. run a memory diagnostic on it using windos diagnostics
4. recover the operating system.

I hope you have some good luck with this advice.

Blue screen problem

This happens mostly when new hardware has been installed. If you have increased the memory, hard drive capacity, or anything else, reverse what you did, and try again. If that does not help, try booting in safe mode, and take the laptop back in time.
