Question about GE Profile Spectra JGBP90 Gas Kitchen Range
My gas oven doesn't work and i am trying to find a manual to see what part it may be and how to get to it
Does it not bake or broil? if this is the case, it could be the control panel. however if one or the other of the bake and broil functions work then it would most likely be an ignitor. check to see if your broil and bake ignitors glow. to access the bake ignitor you must remove the bottom panel from the oven but you can probaly see it gowing without removing the panel. the broil ignitor should be in plain sight.

Most likely the oven ignitor is bad or weak. You can look at it and see how it compares to the broil ignitor. If you see a whitish color on the ignitor and if it doesn't fully glow then it needs to be replaced.

There is nothing fancy about how the gas controls work on this unit. Do all burners give you the same problem? If so, it could be a kinked service hose or a service valve that has been partly shut. If it is limited to a single burner or two, the valve may be gummed up and should be replaced.

You can look up your ge owners manual at ge.com . If the oven has stopped working chances are you have a bad ignitor. the part number is WB2X9154 . The part is $69.99 and I have this item in stock. Shipping will be $6.50 in the continental US>
I hope this will FixYa. If you have more questions please let me know. I can tell you how to remove the old ignitor if needed.

I had the same problem happen tonight. I have an XL44 self-cleaning gas range. We unplugged it for several minutes and pressed 'cancel' a bunch of times--neither worked. We finally lucked out--opened the oven door and pressed a black button on the upper left side of the front of the oven. It turned out the flashing words and unlocked our door. Weird. There was nothing in the manual about this...
