here is a link for another car ..with a in-dash unit..and I linked it just to make an idea...
If it do not have any visible screws or other ..you will have to remove the dash itself cause the unit may have a system that it is joined by the back ...Most of them though are just snap clicked in ..and you will have to use a plastic tool like a flat screwdriver ..to insert at the side and see the points where it is snapped on ..and get it from a side to the other ...inch by inch ..after that will slide out ..
remember if it do not want to ...do not force ..cause it may have a safety system on the bach ..and it have to be removed the whole dash ..

that tool it is just like a flat head one inch wide slightly bent for a lever effect ..and it is not necessary to be the original stuff..just something you have in handy will do ..The idea is to open the snap clicks points..they are on a 4 inch distance apart ..and this tool will make it easier to open them ..without damaging the frame..
they are available for sell in all tool stores..even some markets I sow they had some kinda tools like that ..

Hello,

Disconnect the battery to avoid an electrical short while working with the wiring.

Use a screwdriver to remove the retaining screws holding in your car DVD/GPS unit. Grab hold of the stereo and pull it toward you to remove it from the dashboard.

Get a pair of DIN tools to slip on either side of the DVD/GPS unit, if the DVD/GPS unit connects to the dash using spring clips and bolts. These thin tools slide in easily, release the clips, and allow the DVD/GPS unit to come out easily. You may need to remove dash panels when bolts hold in the DVD/GPS unit. Take out the bolts and screws that hold the DVD/GPS unit in, and then simply pull it out.

Look at the wires on the back of your car DVD/GPS unit. You should see 2 wires attached to the stereo. A wiring clip protect the DVD/GPS unit from vibrations and holds the wiring harness steady.

Pry the wires up from the DVD/GPS unit and loosen them using a pulling/pushing motion. After working the wires back and forth, you should be able to pull the wires straight out.

That is the procedure on how to remove DVD/GPS unit from your dash board.

Take care.

    Thanks for that help.

Don't seem to have retaining screws but will try to "construct' a pair of DIN tools to release the 4 spring clips that appear to hold the unit in it's frame.

Ideally I would like to source an operational instruction manual for the unit (AVN2203D) that is in English. Any leads ??

the complete climate control assembly unit is required to be removed in order to remove the heater core. The climate control assembly is attached by studs & nuts which are accessible at the firewall in the engine compartment. The R134 refrigerant will need to be evacuated and the a/c lines at the expansion valve removed in order to remove the climate unit. Hope this helps. :)

Headlight went out in 2003 ford escape i have

you have to remove the whole headlight assembly, then pop off the front cover pull the old bulb out and put the new one in. reverse the process to re-install. there is a small plastic tab on the topfront of the headlight assembly, that is what you need to release to get the clear cover off and get inside.

On an 05 escape there appear to be only 2 screws holding the brake light cover. I've taken them off but the cover seems really secure along the outer edge and the body panel. I'm if I give it a good yank...

here is 2003. I don't have 2005. SHould be similar. Please rate as fixed if this helps.
