We all wish .... all one can do is connect up with a provider that provides "Global Roaming" then you will be able to do whatever you want. You can get a "Pre-pay" SIM for your iPhone, and when you get to the USA, simply get yourself a suitable SIM, and swap it over, that way, you can use USA rates, when there, and when home, swap back. That will be the least expensive way.you should investigate this..
