Make sure printer is off. You inserted the cartridge wrong. Pull it out re-insert and you should be fine. Sometime until you completely take the ac power off the printer it will not reset.

Waht kind of cartridge is used for canon printer K10282

Your machine is a Pixma MP160. It can use either the PG40 or PG50 Black cartridges, and the CL41 or CL51 Colour cartridges. These can be refilled, but the cartridges have a memory function that will need you to bypass the printers cartridge level calculator. Your cartridge refiller should be able to provide you with instructions for this.

I do not have manual and do not know how to install ink cartridges

With pluging the power cord,
1. Facing the printer, you can lift up the door..(front cover of printer)
2. The cartridge slot will be centered.
3. Insert the cartridge to proper slots.. (will c the sign for color & black slots)

You must be using PG40, CL41 for your printer.

I got this message on the display (canon pixma mp170): "check ink u051"The cartridge is completely new and original. What can I do? Thank you in advance.

MP170 can only accept PG40, PG50, Cl41 & CL51 only. Please check the cartridge model correctly. if problem still persist, ask for replacement for the faulty cartridge.

Canon cartridges have an intelligent chipset to prevent them from being refilled. To have them working properly you need to reset the chipset.
Try the software on this link.
If the above did not work you will need to use a cartridge chip resetter if you want to refill your cartridge.
