How do I use the quantaray close up filter +4

How do I use the quantaray close up filter +2 and + 4. I just got them and don't know how to work them. I know how to put the filter on, but how do I use it for a fabulous pic

You should just be able to put one of them onto the front of the lens and then simply point your camera at something close. Doesn't the camera focus then? Possibly you're too far from the subject?

What kind of camera do you have?

How can I find out the settings available on a Quantaray 70-300 mm zoom lens?

Quantaray has made several different 70-300mm lenses so I'm not sure exactly which one you have. However, if the lens doesn't have a AF/M switch it's no big deal. Assuming it's an autofocus lens, it's always on. If you want to switch to manual focus, flip the switch on the camera body.

If it's an older manual-focus Quantaray lens then the question is moot.

The plastic leg ht clamps on my tripod do not stay closed. they pop open all on thier own. i bought it in may 11 and i know i can return it but would rather know how to fix it myself. rebecca

Hello,

Well if you don't want to return it and it doesn't seem to you like an easy fix, by comparing how the mounting supports are connected on the legs, than you know you have a defective tripod?

There are multiple kinds of support clamps/brackets you can use or...

I would just go purchase a small roll of Automotive Velcro, (thats the toughest and trongest stuff around and cheap at Walmart), to mount to and strap around it, Or you could use a belt, string anything to wrap or tie around it!

Dollor General sells a small box of I believe (8) long strips of Velcro for $2.00 you can attach to some material, (stronger the better) on both ends and strap it cloed that way! That's also pretty good velcro, but really needs to be sewn or safety pinned to the material!

I really don't blame you, I hate having to return things, its a pain, that is for sure! Atleast you don't have the opposite effect of it closing on you! lol You'd have to take it back then!

Kind regards!

Martie

Can't get the quantaray circular polarizer filter off the Canon EFS55-250mm lens

The polarizer filter is comprised of two rings. One screws into the threads on the front of the lens and the other turns freely. Look at the filter closely, then grasp the ring closest to the lens and turn that one counterclockwise to unscrew it from the lens. If it's on too tight or you can't get a good grip on it, try wrapping a rubber band around it.

Will my Quantaray AF 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 LD TELE-MACRO(1:2) going to work with the Sony Alpha cameras? The A55 in particular?

Quantaray makes lenses with a variety of mounts. A lens with a Nikon mount, for example, will not fit onto a Sony A55. If the lens has the Sony mount then it will work fine with the A55.

Dont know where filters go for Quantaray mirror lens 755035

That lens takes a 77mm filter - if you examine the end of the lens very closely, you'll see some threads just on the inside lip of the very edge - the filter screws on to the end via those threads.

I would like to know what these do

Bower is brand name skylight is slightly yellow helps soften light there are diffrent densitys. Filter is mostly used to protect orginal glass of lens from dirt smudges scratches & rough treatment. Keep on lens most of the time.

Hyda brand name. PL 3 i believe to be a dark polarizing filter.

Quantaray 1A4 I believe is a haze or skylight filter.
Haze filter does almost the same as a skylight filter.

Hanimex brand name. Polarizing filter used to shoot through reflective glass or surfaces (water), also in color used to sharpen colors. The reason it is turnable is it is light directional beaning light comes through it at a angal hold up to light & turn it you can see how it darkens or litens. Also can stay on lens when not useing skylight filter.

reason you have 2 is one of each for two diffrent lens, 49mm & 55mm.

Hope this helped. Please rate.Thank You.

I have a Quantaray 70-300 f1:4-5.6 LDOMacro. I have been using it with Minolta QTsi Maxxum SLR. I am looking into getting a Digital SLR that I can use my lens with. Is there one out there.

here is a link to an ebay search for minolta to canon eos adapter, they sell for just about every camera. i know it sucks, buying a new camera that wont work with your favorite lens, but i think you might be better served focusing (couldnt help myself) on camera features and pricing. i own a canon dslr and love it. sigma has a cool dslr. it has a three layer image sensor, with a removable on sensor ir filter. the ir filter thing is really cool.

Used on a Minolta Maxxum 800 si

Hello
The Minolta AF lens will fit and work on most of the Minolta AF bodies (it will depend on exactly what lens it is as to the compatibility), you will also find that it will fit and work with the new range of Sony
digital SLR camera bodies.

The Quantaray lenses are a little bit more difficult as Quantaray make lenses for several different types of camera body, it should mention on the lens what make the lens mount is for. If you post further information about the lenses it might help.
