Hi! The cd playback and ipod port maybe faulty on board. There may be corroded capacitors on the board thats why its not playing well. The tuner is on separate connectivity thats why it can play fine. Hope this helps and have a good one!

Try to set a low exit volume from the devices .cause it makes a pre-amplif effect and the speakers probably do not support it ..and such ...so...always keep the volume on the playing device at the low volume ...and control the volume from the device that makes the amplification ...

if so ...it is a issue with the speakers...probably are damaged ..or just one it is enough ..and they play fine on radio cause it is a different signal ..not that wide in frequencies for bass and trebles ...but on cd and ipod the signal is much more powerful and tjis is the reason ...get some new speakers ...and be sure they are much powerful than the out signal of the unit..and will do fine .....also you may try to set the equalizer if it ihas one ...and try some presets and see how works ..this way you will be able to use it until you get some real speakers..

sounds like distortion is being caused by trying to amplify a low volume level from the input device. try putting the ipod volume at a medium level and try again to see if the distortion goes away/reduced

Are you playing the video directly form the hard disk in the camcorder or are you transferring the file to the laptop first? Reading high volumes of data via USB is slow and the PC may not be able to read the data fast enough from the camcorder. Try copying the video to the laptop first, then play it back.

I have hk3385 receiver and Ipod Touch 4G. I have the cable to connect them. Where do I hook the cable on the receiver (or do I?) and which buttons will play the Ipod music. No video, just music

The manual suggests that you use "A / V 3" (audio / video input 3) for your iPad / iPod audio input. These are the RED and WHITE jacks on the front lower right hand side of the receiver. The YELLOW jack is for composite VIDEO, and need not be connected for "audio only" programs.

Turn the volume on the iPod / iPad to MINIMUM (assuming the receiver volume is at a "normal" setting for the radio, CD, etc.). Connect the cable between the iPod / iPad and the A / V 3 RED and WHITE audio jacks. Select A / V Input 3 on the receiver. Find a song you want to listen to and select PLAY in the iPod / iPad. Slowly adjust the volume on the iPod / iPad up to a comfortable level. If there is distorted sound, adjust he receiver and iPod / iPad volumes up and down as needed. Generally, neither should be set very low or very high.

You can download the owners manual here.

I hope this helps & good luck. Please rate my reply - thanks!

I have just purchased a tandberg 15.22 its in v good cond, no apparent head wear, I've replaced the belt (slow rewind) capstan is fine, there is distortion on the amp, I've cleane the record/amp/playback...

Resistors are good at causing distortion, you might spot one that has burned or broken. If the distortion is in both channels, which by what you say it is, then you might be looking for something common to both channels. Perhaps an IC.

Alpine ida-x001 volume is low even if stereo is turned all the way up only when ipod is plugged in on ipod setting.Radio (AM/FM) is normal volume (louder)..How can I fix this?

Most newer car receivers have a feature named something like "level balancing" in which you can adjust the relative loudness of each input (Tuner, CD, AUX, IPOD). Check you owner's manual for a similar function.

Also, are you or can you turn the level of the ipod itself up a bit?

Disconnect whatever is attached to the BLUE wire at the back of the Alpine deck. Re-connect it to the BLUE/WHITE wire instead. This should solve your problem.
