My computer screen keeps going blank then a error message appears saying that logon process has failed to create the secuity options dialog

There are two soltions to this problem that i know of

More than likely this happens because you have a non-Vista compatible
security suite installed. Have you installed some kind of
firewall/antivirus/whatever suite? If so, which?

and the second path to follow which i have heard of is that your C Drives S.M.A.R.T Data has errors on it , the only way to fix it then is to buy a new Hard Drive and re-install Vista , then add your old hard drive as a slave and get the data that you want off it.

This also would apply to media on an optical drive or floppy drive that you're trying to boot from. make sure there are no disks in cd floppy usb drives Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA the leads from your ((MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE)) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty if its a flat ribbon 40 pin IDE it will be the fist to fail Make sure all power and data leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs Data and Power to travel through every working device and to continue its cycle and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error. also make sure you have set it boot from you hard drive in BIOS Restart your computer and enter BIOS mode. On most computers this is done by pressing the Delete ot F2 key but will vary depending on your computers bios other keys Acer: - Ctrl+Alt+Esc , ALR PC: (F2) or (Ctrl)(Alt)Esc) , Award BIOS: (Del) or (Ctrl)(Alt)(Esc).

put a blank CD into the CD drive.(must be at least 700 MB) Go into SETTINGS and select BACKUP AND RESTORE on the left sidebar one of the options is to create system repair disk. Click this option and a window will appear. select your CD drive letter, then click create system repair disk it will take a minute then you will get a message saying that it's finished. take the CD out and keep it in case your computer crashes

User Profile Service failed the logon error message


The User Profile Service failed the logon.
User profile cannot be loaded is a message you sometimes get in Vista or Windows 7. Many suggest editing the registry but for novice users that can be dangerous. Here is an alternative solution.
Logon in safe mode.
  • Restart your computer and log into safe mode: As your computer is rebooting, press F8 Repeatedly after your POST screen. If you get the OS screen, you need to start over.
  • Choose safe mode with networking
  • Open internet explorer and copy and paste this site into the address bar:

When you use a server or a workstation that is running one of the operating systems that is listed in the "Applies to" section, you may receive the following error message: STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000034 (0x00000000 0x0000000)
The system has been shutdown. Note The parameters in parentheses are specific to your computer configuration and may be different for each occurrence. uparrow.gifBack to the top CAUSE The STOP 0xC000021A error occurs when either Winlogon.exe or Csrss.exe fails. Wh... loadTOCNode(1, 'cause'); The STOP 0xC000021A error occurs when either Winlogon.exe or Csrss.exe fails. When the Windows NT kernel detects that either of these processes has stopped, it stops the system and raises the STOP 0xC000021A error. This error may have several causes. Among them are the following:
  • Mismatched system files have been installed.
  • A Service Pack installation has failed.
  • A backup program that is used to restore a hard disk did not correctly restore files that may have been in use.
  • An incompatible third-party program has been installed.

RESOLUTION To troubleshoot this problem, you must determine which of these processes faile... loadTOCNode(1, 'resolution'); To troubleshoot this problem, you must determine which of these processes failed and why.

To determine which process failed, register Dr. Watson as the default system debugger (if it is not already the default debugger). To set up Dr. Watson to trap user-mode program errors, follow these steps:

  2. At a command prompt, type System Root\System32\Drwtsn32.exe, and then select the following options: Append to existing log file

    Visual Notification
  3. After the computer restarts from the STOP 0xC000021A error, run Dr. Watson (Drwtsn32.exe).
  4. View the Dr. Watson log to determine what user mode process may be causing the problem.
  5. If the Dr. Watson log does not contain sufficient information to determine the cause of the problem, analyze the User.dmp file to determine the cause of the STOP 0xC000021A error.

    If Dr. Watson did not create a User.dmp file for either Winlogon.exe or Csrss.exe, you may have to use a different tool to generate a memory dump file of the process that fails. The GINA performs all identification and authentication user interactions.
It is very common for certain types of remote control software to replace the default Windows GINA DLL (Msgina.dll). Therefore, a good first step is to examine the system to see if it has a third-party GINA DLL. To do this, locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Value = GinaDLL REG_SZ
  • If the Gina DLL value is present and if it is anything other than Msgina.dll, it probably means that a third-party product has changed this value.
  • If this value is not present, the system uses Msgina.dll as the default GINA DLL.
If this error first occurred after the installation of a new or updated device driver, system service, or third-party program, the new software should be removed or disabled. Contact the manufacturer of the software to see if an update is available. My e machine i got 3 months ago wont start up it goes to a screen and says GUID:E0C47469-0358-DE11-A7B5-96C6AC826041 DHCP..... Then it says boot disk error reboot cd


Turn off the computer. If the computer is in a state that it can be properly shut down, follow the normal shutdown process. On the other hand, if the computer is not reacting to anything, simply pull the cord from the wall.
Restart the computer. Plug the computer back into the wall and press the "Power" button. Wait for the eMachine's computer to reach the screen that reads "Press F11 to start recovery." Once this screen appears, press the F11 key on the keyboard multiple times to make sure that it registers. If the recovery screen does not come up, you will need to turn the computer off and back on again and attempt to press the F11 button again when the prompt appears.
Select the proper option. After the F11 key is properly selected and the recovery screen appears, there will be a list of recovery options. Scroll to the option that says: "Full System Restore (with Backup). Choosing this option will move all of the contents of the Hard Disk to the C:\My Backup file. This will ensure that important files that have been created on the computer will not be deleted. However, the applications on the computer will need to be reinstalled.
Allow the Full System Restore to run its course. Depending on the age and effectiveness of the eMachine computer, it is possible this process could take up to 45 minutes. When the system restore is complete, the computer will restart itself. The startup could also take a while due to the fact that it will be restarting in Safe Mode.
Reinstall applications. Any of the files created on the computer should be saved. However, the applications that created them need to be reinstalled. This means that applications like Microsoft Office or Adobe software will need to be reinstalled from disks or online before you can open files created with Microsoft or Adobe programs.

Blue Screen c000021a


Next step is remove hard drive and see if it is recognized in another computer. The Hard Drive could just be bad, but you need to rule out the motherboard drive controllers that could also be bad. Also try a known good drive in your system.

Go into your BIOS
Set the 1st Boot device preference to CD
Insert your windows XP disk
Boot from CD
Run XP Repair

You do this at your own risk. I am in no way accountable for damage to your computer.
