Monitor won't wake up after going to sleep for about 1/2 hour. orange light is burning. if I turn off power switch, it's still orange when I turn it on again. The computer is still on (in sleep mode I think). therefore I have to cut the power to both the computer and the monitor and restart every time after I go away for a while.

It sounds like the power management drivers with your OS are responsible. Maybe you should disable the power management on your computer, or possibly upgrade them and/or the BIOS.

Monitor won,t wake up from sleep mode

Open monitor and look at power supply board for capacitors which are "balooning" or deformed in any way. These look like cylindars on the board. These tend to dry out and make what you are describing occur. Replacing them usually fixes about 80% of the problem you are describing. Those parts run about $0.25 to $0.75 each.. well worth trying, right?

Try a different monitor, check the connections to the pc. When the monitor light changes to orange, press the spacebar to see if the light changes back to blue. Your pc power settings might need to be re-adjusted, is the pc going to sleep or hibernating too soon?

Go to Control Panel, (top right View Small Icons). Then look for Power Options. On this page, you'll have the option to leave the monitor on. You should also check "Advanced Power Options". Don't be afraid of the word, "Advanced." It only means "customizeable"

AOC Monitor says "no signal" and won't wake up!

This monitor refuses to wake up because it cannot find the signal from the computer.

When the light is amber, force the pc to shut down by holding the power button until all lights go off. Then, after about 10 seconds, power the pc back up again.

If this does not start your monitor, unplug all the monitors connections and plug them back in again. These things should reform the connection from the pc to the monitor.

good luck
