When first powering on this laptop, you should push the button on the left side where the CD/DVD drive is located. You should also push F10 to stop it from loading an OS and it will enter into bios where the CD tray can be opened.

On the back of the viewsonic tablet pc or at least on the V1100 the is a small pinhole type openining. Here you may need something as small as a needle to depress the button. It is located 3/4ths of the way down on the back of the pc.
Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear: Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off.Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab.Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions. After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again. -Tha Mp3 Doctor
THE REAL SOLUTION: 1. Hold down (light/el/set--the top right button) for 2 seconds to enter real time setting mode. 2. Press Mode key (bottom left button) to skip around to the different setting items. 3. Press Reset (top left button) to lower a setting. 4. Press ST/SP (bottom right button) to advance a setting (like increasing the time). 5. The day of the week will show automatically if you were correct in setting the year, month, date, and local city.
After a deep study of the manual there are two reset buttons. One on the remote (pg 8 #4). The camera reset is next to the tape eject button. (pg6 #25). Hope this helps.
I haven't used mine for over 2 years because of the mildew detected warning and not being able to find anyone to fix it for me. I just found this on the internet and am going to try it when my battery charges. Seems this is a common error for these palmcorders... good luck!
"When you get the "Dew Detected" sign on the screen, remove the battery, give it a good palm hit on the bottom where the battery sits. Hit it a couple good times, put the battery back in and voila it will work guaranteed! I thought it was dumb at first, tried it and it works, hell it works everytime. The blow dryer, plastic bag trick dont work because its an electrical error, not actual dew."
